Peak summer heating

Peak Summer heating in the South is just plain brutal for a few months every year.

If you haven’t experienced it, then you’re in for a rude awakening.

I have grown up with it as well as it still just wears me out to no end. I can’t wait to see the calendar turn to November because I think relief is on the way. But, while in the summer, our Heating & Air Conditioning is working overtime. So, I take steps to try as well as shave as much savings from our overworked Heating & Air Conditioning as I can. Simply turning down the control equipment as well as paying the subsequent bill won’t do it for me anymore. The first thing I did was to seal up the cabin much tighter. I took our caulk gun as well as went all around the exterior of our home. If there was a hole, a gap or a crack that treated air could leak from, I filled it. Then, I took the caulk gun upstairs to the attic. While cool air does fall as well as not rise. The attic can still be a venue where plenty of hot air can seep in as well as cool air can seep out. So, I seal every single joint I can find. After that, I go around the entire perimeter to seal all that up as well. My next target was the heating from direct sun. There are so many windows in our home. I enjoy that but it also opens us up to so much direct sun streaming through those windows. I ordered some special drapes that block the sun as well as absorb the heat. All the little things can add up to big Heating & Air Conditioning energy savings.
