I wonder if my colleagues at my task will ever figure out it was me who informed the boss on what has been breaking our office apart.
But, it had to be done and I know I don’t entirely even care.
I answered a basic question when I was asked. The HVAC machine setting in our office was so highly contested that it was creating a pretty huge rift in people that I consider to actually be friends. But the office has devolved into a petty venue all over the ludicrous HVAC machine setting. I understand, as I task there as well, that entirely working in an uncomfortable environment is not good for people. It has become a tipping point for people with polar opposite personalities to attack each other. The clashes are becoming more and more frequent and people are starting to get really personal with it. So when my boss asked me what was going on with me, I just told him precisely what was happening. He was aware that there was some disagreement over the HVAC machine settings however had no clue in the slightest of how far it had gone. The boss spent a few mornings entirely watching the situation and that convinced him that there had to be something done about the situation. I’ll provide him a lot of credit for how he handled it. First, he had the HVAC machine people come in and convert the existing HVAC machine to a zone controlled system. This way, people could group together by comfort level. However, he went a step further and started office wide talks to address the underlying contentious concerns. I truly applaud him for that because he is basically solving a short term complication while aiming to solve a long term complication.
