I recently have become aware that occasionally you are not aware that you are dealing with something of low quality until you get a much better example, and this was the case with our heater! For as long as I can remember our heating system has always had huge complications, and also they were often at the worst of times.
- I can certainly remember having long and also cold winters and being nice and hot due to the central heating, only to have it turn off suddenly and becoming cold and then having to wait until it came back on.
I didn’t realize it until much later however apparently our gas oil furnace had some severe troubles keeping the apartment heated. Mostly because it would switch on and off unexpectedly… But luckily, I had a fireplace and when the heating system would shut off I would carefully kneel in front of the fireplace and then I’d wrap myself in blankets. That seemed to keep myself and others hot enough and then I was finally able to get some sleep through the cold afternoons, then when I did become aware of the troubles with our heating system I decided to just get a completely new setup rather than pay the cost of the repairs, which would have been about as much as a new machine due to all the complications with it. It wasn’t even an awful heater, it was just too old. I called our heating, ventilation and A/C supplier nearby and also inquired about their available heat and also a/c products! After much discussion on oil and gas furnaces and all the weird types of heating I went with a gas heater; now all our prior heating complications are a thing of the past.
