I recently have become aware that sometimes you are not aware that you are dealing with something of low quality until you get a much better one. This was the case with my heater. For as long as I can remember my heater has always had problems, and they were often at the worst of times. I can specifically remember having long and cold winters and being nice and warm due to the central heating, only to have it turn off suddenly and becoming cold and having to wait until it came back on. I didn’t realize it until much later but apparently my gas furnace had some serious issues keeping the house heated. Mostly because it would switch on and off unexpectedly. Luckily, I had a fireplace and when the heater would shut off I would go and lay in front of the fireplace and wrap myself in blankets. That seemed to keep me warm enough and I was finally able to get some sleep through the cold nights. When I did become aware of the issues with my heater I decided to just get a completely new one rather than pay the cost of the repairs, which would have been about as much as a new one due to all the problems with it. It wasn’t even a bad heater, it was just old. I called my HVAC company nearby and inquired about their available heat and A/C products. After much discussion on furnaces and all the different types of heating I went with a gas heater. Now all my prior heating problems are a thing of the past.
