I genuinely miss my grandparents

I can still hear my granny’s voice mentioning these words.

It’s interesting how you can easily recall someone’s voice who has been gone for so long.

Usually when she said these words she would be eating some kind of sweets saying “the healthcare worker told me not to eat sweets but just this time”. Well, she lived to be 97 years seasoned so I suppose the sweets weren’t so disappointing afterall. Her & my gramps lived in a small residence on a lake & had no HVAC machine at all for the locale. They didn’t need air conditioning machines back then as the summer seasons were not that hot while in the afternoon, & at evening the temps would dip down into the upper 50s as I remember. They had a wood burning fireplace for the wintertime & I suppose they even had some small section furnaces that used some kind of coil to heat the room. I can easily remember the burning stink when they would turn it on for the first time in the wintertime, but I honestly miss those afternoons at the residence with my Grandparents & I miss the fires we made in the fireplace on those cold blustery afternoons in the middle of the nippy months! Grandparents are truly special & sadly we usually never realize this till they are gone. Of course, my Grandpa was an HVAC salesman & he sold section furnaces & heat pumps going door to door. I couldn’t imagine having to knock on strangers’ doors trying to sell HVAC machines that 98% of them didn’t want. Times have changed a bit since then haven’t they!
