My spouse & I bought a house about five years ago, it was not exactly what my associate and I wanted, but my associate and I had a vision to make it our dream home.

One of the things that my associate and I planned on doing was finishing the basement.

It is a large space that is just wasted… We wanted to finish it so that our children could come house & have their own space. We planned to add a mini kitchen to the space as well as three bedrooms & a full size powder room. It was a great plan, but my associate and I have never acted on it. I decided to start doing something myself to make it feel more homey down there; The first thing that I did was added a boiler because it was quite cold, then right now, it is just one immense open space, so I thought that one boiler would do the trick, but it does not. It brings the temperature up to about sixty degrees, however for some people, sixty degrees may be warm enough but not for my teenagers! My teenagers are a lot like me when it comes to being cold all of the time. My child keeps his house at about seventy-five degrees year round because he gets cold genuinely easily. I know that I am going to have to buy another boiler to put down there now. The one boiler just won’t split it. I hope that the space will be more inviting once I have more furniture & another boiler down there. I plan to make it look as nice as possible as well as keep it as warm as possible within reason.

I used to feel that I was a pretty taxing lady.

I have done several things in my life that have made me feel tough, however I realized on my last vacation that I am not nearly as taxing as I thought that I was.

The last vacation that my family plus I took was to a easily pretty lodge down south. It was particularly gorgeous, plus I would prefer to go to that section again. The only issue was that the lodge did not have air conditioning, plus my friend and I did not realize that until my friend and I got there. I sincerely don’t feel that I would have brought an A/C with me even if I had known that there was no air conditioning. It was super tepid the entire trip. It was the middle of June, plus the temperatures were in the nineties every single morning. It was tepid plus humid, plus I was so annoyed. I thought I was taxing until I had to try plus sleep in such heat. It was almost impossible for me to go to sleep at night. I even tried sleeping outside under the stars, however I was still super warm. It took me on average about three hours to fall asleep, plus that is not normal for me, and usually, I fall asleep within minutes of lying in bed. My family took the heat way better than I did, plus that really hurt my pride. I would prefer to go back to that same section again, however next time, I will make sure that the lodge I stay in has air conditioning.

The one furnace just won’t cut it

My youngsters are a lot like me when it comes to being freezing all of the time. My daughter keeps her condo at about seventy-five degrees year round because she gets freezing easily easily. I know that I am going to have to buy another furnace to put down there now. The one furnace just won’t cut it. I hope that the space will be more inviting once I have more furniture plus another furnace down there. I plan to make it look as nice as possible and keep it as sizzling as possible within reason.

My wife and I have been trying to save as much money as we can lately.

We really want to buy a new house because we want to start a family as soon as possible.

Well, since we are trying to save money, we have been putting off repairs that need to be made around our current house. We also know that we are going to have to sell our house once we do have enough money saved so we aren’t in a rush to repair things around the house. That being said, we have been putting off repairing the furnace for about a year now. Well, the winter season is about to start so I know that we will need a working furnace to get us through the winter season. So, I called a local HVAC company to see if they could give me a quote to repair our furnace. They sent out an HVAC tech to assess our furnace to give a proper quote. Well, when the HVAC tech looked at the furnace, I knew that he was going to give us a very high quote. I knew all along that we should have just had the furnace repaired when it started breaking down last winter, but we just weren’t in the right place financially to get the furnace repaired. I think moving forward we just have to make sure that we are taking care of our house because we don’t want to get ourselves into another situation like this where we have to pay more money in the end.

 

Putting off furnace repair

I live in a very cold part of the country.

I have lived in this type of climate my entire life and I don’t think that I will ever leave.

I really like the cold weather so much! I have visited a southern climate in the past and I have to admit that it’s not for me, there is something about the warm weather that really just turns me off and I could not imagine living in a climate where I have to keep the air conditioner turned on all day and night. This year has been a really tough winter for us though, it has snowed about six feet in the past week and we are expected to get even more snow. At this point most people can’t even leave their homes, so we are stuck inside all day. I know several people who have lost power and don’t have access to an HVAC system anymore. Thankfully, everyone that I know has back up space heaters in case this happens because it has happened several times in the past and we have all had to learn our lesson the hard way. However, when you have space heaters plugged in you have to be extra careful because space heaters can start a fire very quickly and can engulf your whole house in flames in a matter of minutes. I think everyone should have to take a safety class when they purchase a space heater for the first time because it’s easy to get yourself into a bad situation with space heaters.

My husband plus I do the snowbird thing, but my friend and I are in our northern house for the summer time plus the rest of the time stay down south for the nicer weather, then slowly my pal and I hope to just live in the south plus sell our northern home, then right now my pal and I are in the process of upkeep for each one, but i used to worry about security plus energy waste with the two places. I replaced to a house automation system for each spot plus I have not regretted it, and for my southern home, it is nice that the lights automatically come on when I approach the door. If robbers suppose they are coming in, they won’t be able to due to the keyless entry plus locks on the doors plus windows. My friend and I even have video camera surveillance around the outside… Our northern house is even more decked out. I splurged plus got an integrated Heating plus A/C solution with a smart temperature control, then this is so my pal and I don’t waste any energy by leaving our home. I have the lights on a timed program so that it looks like people live in the house. The Heating plus A/C only turns on when the hot plus cold temperatures get absolutely frosty or absolutely hot. The temperature control does scan the home for people. If anyone shows up, the Heating plus A/C will automatically fire up. I also have the luxury of controlling my heater, air conditioner, lights, plus cameras all from my PC. So if I need to make an replace, I can do that quite easily. It was worth it to supply my husband plus I the peace of mind that both our homes are safe for the weather plus elements.
