I made a call to the Heating & Air Conditioning corporation

Yesterday, I called the Heating & Air Conditioning corporation.

I told them I need to have our entire Heating & Air Conditioning plan cleaned & diagnosed.

Every one of us have a lot of dust in our home, lately, & I am pretty sure it is because of our Heating & Air Conditioning system. The thing that perplexes myself and others is that every one of us don’t have any air duct that could carry the dust into the house. Every time every one of us turned on the a/c unit, every one of us had dust all over. When the Heating & Air Conditioning worker showed up, he checked everything, from the air ducts to the AC & the boiler. He told myself and others every one of us had a small fissure in the expandable tubes every one of us use for the AC unit. I thought every one of us didn’t have any kind of air duct; He explained that the central a/c needs some kind of air duct for the a/c to get from the AC component to the inside of the house. They use collapsible air duct pipes. They are smaller & are really hid inside the walls, but they carry the cooled air into the air vents that are located at the top of the wall in each room. I was surprised about the air duct because I had lived in this home for numerous years & I didn’t suppose about the air duct. Apparently when I was putting up some pictures, I had used a longer than average nail which had put a small tear into one part of the air duct. He said it would be easy to repair since it was just a few inches below the air vent.

I phoned up the Heating as well as Air Conditioning business

Yesterday, I called the Heating as well as Air Conditioning business.

  • I told them I need to have my entire Heating as well as Air Conditioning system cleaned as well as tested.

We have a lot of dust in our home, lately, as well as I am pretty sure it is because of my Heating as well as Air Conditioning system. The thing that perplexes me is that both of us don’t have any HVAC duct that could carry the dust into the house. Every time both of us turned on the A/C unit, both of us had dust all over. When the Heating as well as Air Conditioning worker showed up, he checked everything, from the air ducts to the A/C as well as the boiler. He told me both of us had a small fissure in the expandable tubes both of us use for the A/C unit. I thought both of us didn’t have any kind of HVAC duct, and he explained that the central A/C needs some kind of HVAC duct for the A/C to get from the A/C unit to the inside of the house. They use collapsible HVAC duct pipes. They are smaller as well as are undoubtedly hid inside the walls, but they carry the cooled air into the air vents that are located at the top of the wall in each room. I was surprised about the HVAC duct because I had lived in this current home for numerous years as well as I didn’t suppose about the HVAC duct. Apparently when I was putting up some pictures, I had used a longer than average nail which had put a small tear into 1 section of the HVAC duct. He said it would be straight-forward to fix since it was just a few inches below the air vent.

Winter is here

Over the last couple of weeks, I have had the A/C turned off as well as it is honestly comfortable in my home. We called the Heating as well as Air Conditioning corporation as well as asked if they would come out as well as repair our furnace. Although both of us no longer need the A/C, as well as it is comfortable without the either the A/C or the furnace, both of us knew that Winter was coming. I didn’t want to caught in the middle of Winter with a broken furnace. When they come to our current home to repair the furnace, they don’t just disinfect the furnace. They look over every element in the furnace as well as look for as well as kind of broken or dirty section that is already there. They look for stress cracks or stress areas that may cause the furnace to cut down in the future. They change the air filters as well as they disinfect the air ducts as well as check the HVAC duct for cracks or holes. Since both of us have a maintenance agreement plan, both of us only need to pay for parts involved, if there are any. We usually get a Gold Star for our furnace, but this year, they found a small problem. They found that there was a problem with the igniter switch. They changed out the switch to make sure the furnace ran perfectly when both of us needed it. The maintenance agreement idea doesn’t cost us much as well as since all both of us paid for was for the igniter switch, both of us assume both of us have a great deal. I pay every more than one years, to keep my maintenance agreement idea alive as well as well. We pay a lot less for the agreement than both of us would if both of us had to pay for an emergency repair call.

I called the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C provider

Yesterday, I called the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company.

I told them I need to have my entire Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C proposal cleaned plus checked.

All of us have a lot of dust in our home, lately, plus I am pretty sure it is because of my Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system. The thing that perplexes myself and others is that the people I was with and I don’t have any HVAC duct that could carry the dust into the house. Every time the people I was with and I turned on the air conditioning unit, the people I was with and I had dust all over. When the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional showed up, he checked everything, from the HVAC ducts to the A/C plus the boiler. He told myself and others the people I was with and I had a small fissure in the expandable tubes the people I was with and I use for the A/C unit. I thought the people I was with and I didn’t have any kind of HVAC duct, then he explained that the central air conditioning needs some kind of HVAC duct for the air conditioning to get from the A/C equipment to the inside of the house. They use collapsible HVAC duct pipes. They are smaller plus are legitimately hid inside the walls, but they carry the cooled air into the air vents that are located at the top of the wall in each room. I was surprised about the HVAC duct because I had lived in this apartment for multiple years plus I didn’t know about the HVAC duct. Apparently when I was putting up some pictures, I had used a longer than average nail which had put a small tear into a single part of the HVAC duct. He said it would be straight-forward to repair since it was just a few inches below the air vent.

Realizing the importance of annual HVAC maintenance to health and budget

I’m very conscientious about having the oil and filter changed in my car.

I have the tires rotated and keep up with all of the necessary service.

I’m hoping to avoid costly and aggravating breakdowns. I’d like my car to last as long as possible, and provide maximum return from my investment. Plus, timely, professional service fulfills the requirements of the warranty coverage. Until recently, I didn’t realize that all of that applies to my forced air furnace and central cooling system as well. By investing in annual HVAC maintenance with a licensed contractor, I save money. This yearly upkeep helps to prevent costly malfunction, reduce energy bills, extend the life of the system, and meet manufacturer’s warranty obligations. The service is not all that expensive and most definitely pays for itself. According to what I’ve read, HVAC maintenance reduces the risk of system failure by up to 95%. Regular adjustment, cleaning and inspection ensures that the heating and cooling units run a peak efficiency. According to the US Department of Energy, it adds up to a savings of approximately 30% on energy bills. When the technician looks over the system, he checks for and resolves minor issues. He replaces any broken parts, tightens loose wires and removes the harmful buildup of debris. The air my family breathes isn’t contaminated by a dirty furnace or air conditioner. The EPA suggests that indoor air is typically two to five times more polluted than outdoor levels. Most people spend 90% of their time indoors. If there’s dust, pollen, bacteria, mold and other disgusting stuff hidden inside the furnace, air conditioner or ductwork, it gets spread throughout the house and can lead to health problems. By having the HVAC system properly serviced, I enjoyed peace of mind.

Upgrading to a smart thermostat and zone control improves comfort and trims costs

By investing into a smart thermostat, I was able to upgrade to zoned heating and cooling. I am able to set specific temperatures in the major rooms of the home. This allows me to maintain ideal comfort in occupied rooms, while saving energy in the empty areas. The zone control is especially helpful because my family lives in a very large, older home with lots of rooms. We seldom use the dining room, library or formal living room. However, the family room and kitchen tend to get overly chilly during the winter. I can now target heating to these rooms without impacting the rest of the house. Because the bedrooms are located on the second story, they are typically overheated. In the summer, we can focus some extra air conditioning to the bedrooms, and during the winter, we can reduce the heating a bit. With the independent thermostats in each of the rooms, my kids are able to customize temperature settings to their personal preference. During the day, when the bedrooms are empty, there’s no need to waste energy keeping them perfectly comfortable. Upgrading to zone control has saved a significant amount of money on monthly utility bills. It has also helped to reduce the workload of the furnace and air conditioner. This should add up to less maintenance requirements, fewer repair needs and a longer service life. The installation of zone control was not overly involved or expensive. Along with the cost and set up of the smart thermostats, the HVAC contractor simply installed a series of valves into the ductwork. These valves regulate air flow to the specific rooms.

Installing heated flooring myself was easy but annoying

I try to do all home repairs on my own.

My feeling is that when hiring a professional, you are paying for someone else’s mistakes.

Everybody on a major job will make an error. Do you want to pay someone to make that mistake or make it on your own? I like the idea of saving the money and learning something in the process. Sometimes doing my own work bites me in the butt. I recently got heated flooring installed in my home. I got electric heated mats to go under my floorboards. The HVAC company I bought the system from quoted me the heater installation price and I decided to do it myself. I read online and the process seemed doable. I have pulled up floors before. Then you need to set the mats next to each other, hook them together and put new flooring over top. It seemed simple and possible to not make any mistakes. I am proud to say I did a great job with very few errors. There are a few gaps with no heated mats, but they are small. The only complaint I have is that the heater installation took forever. I spent days working on that heater install and it was tedious. My back, knees and neck are still aching after the job I did. I get where people would want to hire out the heating service because it was just awful. Some people might be willing to give money to never have to go through it. If I got heated flooring again, I might consider hiring someone.

The outdoor unit with the AC was angled

For a long time my cooling system was not working so hot.

Anytime I turned down the temperature on the thermostat, I knew it was wishful thinking.

My AC system just never seemed to get cool. I could have heating and slightly cool air. Those were my options. I tried cleaning the air filter, cleaning the indoor AC unit and sticking a vacuum up inside of it. It wasn’t until I was outside the house that I deduced the repair. The outdoor unit with my cooling device was at an angle. For a long time I thought that was no big deal. After not finding the AC repair, I started researching about outdoor components. A lopsided outdoor unit is no good. The coolant in the system will all run to one side of the machine. So when the air is cycled and blown, there is no coolant to actually cool down that air due to the angle. It was such a simple fix too. I took some bricks and old pieces of wood to make the machine level again. After it was all squared away, the cooling system worked like a champ. I actually have cold air and the thermostat temperature is matched. The air conditioner also makes way less noise than it used to and can actually turn off since it reaches the temperature I want. My energy bills are lower and I am happier in my home. The only issue was just a slightly skewed outdoor unit. Who would have thought? Glad I did the research and noticed it.

Really would like to do my own ductwork maintenance

There are certain things a homeowner can tackle themselves and others they cannot. I know I can do my own oil change on a car. I can’t however, do any major repairs with the brakes or engine. With the HVAC, I can change air filter, clean the fan blades and even add more freon if needed. Anything bigger than that, I am stuck calling the professional. I would really like to expand my skills. I think especially in ductwork I can do some of the work. Every couple of years a homeowner should pay for ductwork cleaning. I have watched a duct cleaning appointment. It is not all that impressive. The HVAC contractor takes a large scrub brush and pushes it through the air vents. The HVAC professional just seems to guess where the brush should go and twirls it around. It is not very scientific or difficult looking. The only thing I would need is the actual scrubbing tool. I wonder if I can fashion my own or if there is a reason HVAC contractors all have the same brush. There must be an online store that sells HVAC equipment though. Getting the ductwork cleaning tool should be easy. Ductwork sealing would be a little more difficult. That tool looks like an airsoft gun. The gun has sealant particles in the air that it blows out. I wonder how much that tool is and how much it is to get it refilled. I like the idea of being able to do duct sealing anytime I want to. I would save so much money.

Landlord still hasn’t called about my heating system

There are many benefits to renting.

Making holes in the wall or dented appliances is not a big deal. I don’t worry about weeds in the garden or sticks in the lawn. It is nice knowing I won’t stay in the house forever, so upkeep is sort of an afterthought. Another good point should be that my landlord handles any service that I need. My landlord is really bad about getting back to me on necessary service. I have called about my roof leaking three times and heard nothing back. It is not my roof that will be forever damaged with water. So I think I might give up. I will not give up on my heater system repair though. For a long time the heating unit was acting funky. It was making these horrible screeching sounds. The speed seemed to vary for a while too. The heater would sound like it was really working and then like it was barely moving. The fan almost seemed to power high and low while it was heating. So it was not a surprise that one day the heater just refused to turn on. I need my landlord to call a HVAC business and get a heating professional in my rental home. I want the heater fixed before the cold season starts. The landlord is taking his sweet time on it though. I think he does not want to spend the money on a heater repair. But, I am not willing to go one day in the cold season without heating. He better get on it.
