Football and a Fireplace

Sitting next to a flickering fireplace is joyous to me, especially while snuggling under a comfy blanket with a good book.  Sunday football with the heated fireplace, reminds me of my youth. In the winter months, my dad always had the football games on the television, and a fire in the fireplace. Now I’m the dad of the house, and I love my winter football games.  I can be found sitting by the fireplace rooting my favorite team on to victory, while my wife bakes a pumpkin pie in the kitchen. Thankfully, we have a well-working furnace that will keep the house warm during the cold winter months. The fireplace is great for ambiance, but not so great for heating the house.  In fact, I had the air conditioning tune-up last spring, but now it’s time for the furnace tune-up. I don’t want to take any chances on whether or not the furnace will work when it needs to. So I’ll have the HVAC provider over to check the furnace out to ensure a well-heated and safe wintertime.  I have several portable heaters for emergencies, but they are to be used only for emergencies.  I really don’t want my kids moving portable heaters around my house.  They can barely keep up with their school books, let alone a portable heater.  They would just leave the heater on in an empty room, causing a possibly dangerous situation.   Or I can opt to ensure that my furnace will work when I turn it on, and the kids won’t have to deal with the portable heaters at all.

Camping and replacing the heater

Camping for a few afternoons every now plus then is one of my favorite things I like to do. Surviving free of modern technology for a little while really helps myself and others put this electronic age into perspective, then yeah of course technology is honestly useful, however I guess the two of us would all be able to adapt in no time if the two of us ever have to go without… I mean I have little trouble doing this, plus I got as several gadgets as anyone, but at least, this is how I used to think! Unfortunately, because of the last camping trip I went on, I have had to reconsider my position on the issue. Usually when I go camping in the Winter, I take a small portable space furnace with me. Although my space furnace is just for emergency use, as it’s never supposed to be needed. Usually what I will do is cut up some dry wood plus make a small fireplace to stay warm… However it becomes much harder to light a fireplace when it is raining outside. As in this case, a pressing storm – not expected to form – just happened right over my campsite! Well okay, that’s why I had a backup idea with my space heater. I have had my space furnace for a while, so I never thought about replacing it.  However, I should have known to replace it sooner rather than later. Anyways, it got a lot colder than I expected plus after an minute of using my space heater, it died out on me; That whole night was horrible, plus all I could guess about was how ecstatic I would be if I were home, underneath an actual roof, having my thermostat turned up to a 100 degrees.

I really didn’t want that

Tonight the people I was with and I are having a Halloween party at our home for a whole bunch of kids & it’s absurd around here. There are youngsters in the living room, with the gas fireplace turned on because they all say that they are cold cold. There are middle schoolers in the family room, & they are all warm because they are dancing around & doing karaoke. And then there are some little kids playing in the basement, & they say that it’s too cold down there & they are asking if I’ll turn on the electric space heating systems in the basement. Between the more than two strange groups & age ranges of kids, I’m about to go nuts. Not only are they all bothering myself and others with either the heating settings or the air conditioning settings, however they are dripping plum cider & crumbling snacks & donuts every single locale that they go. I tried to get them to rest in the kitchen, however it’s adore they have to keep moving at all times. I will admit that the indoor temperature was pretty cold when they first arrived. But I wanted to keep the heating turned off because I guess how warm certain people can get at parties & I was trying to make sure that most people was either warm enough or cold enough. Of course, kids can constantly find something or another to complain about, & before too long, I had some wanting myself and others to adjust the temperature control so the air was colder. Then of course, in the other room the people I was with and I had all the freeze-babies who were begging myself and others to turn the oil furnace on eve warmer. I wish the people I was with and I had zone control heating & A/C. At times adore these, a zone control Heating & Air Conditioning device would be amazing to have!

The heater was for an emergency

Camping for a few afternoons every now and then is a single of my number one things I like to do. Surviving free of new technology for a little while honestly helps me put this electronic age into perspective, but yeah of course technology is absolutely useful, however I suppose all of us would all be able to adapt in no time if all of us ever have to go separate from, however i mean I have little trouble doing this, and I got as many gadgets as anyone, at least, this is how I used to think, but unfortunately, because of the last camping trip I went on, I have had to reconsider my position on the issue. Usually when I go camping in the winter, I take a small portable section oil furnace with me. Although my section oil furnace is just for emergency use, as it’s never supposed to be needed. Usually what I will do is split up some dry wood and make a small fireplace to stay warm! However it becomes much harder to light a fireplace when it is raining outside. As in this case, a big storm – not expected to form – just happened right over my campsite, and well okay, that’s why I had a backup plan with my section heater. I have had my section oil furnace for a while, so I never thought about replacing it.  However, I should have known to replace it sooner rather than later. I need some new parts

Tonight we are having a Halloween party at our house for a whole bunch of kids and it’s crazy around here. There are teenagers in the living room, with the gas fireplace turned on because they all say that they are freezing cold. There are middle schoolers in the family room, and they are all hot because they are dancing around and doing karaoke. And then there are some little kids playing in the basement, and they say that it’s too cold down there and they are asking if I’ll turn on the electric space heaters in the basement. We didn’t want that

The other day, I was trying to text my husband that every one of us needed our HVAC system repair. Little did I know I texted the wrong person! I really texted my husband’s sibling. He was replying saying not to waste our cash on an standard HVAC company since he could handle the repair on his own for no charge to us. I was skeptical of his skills with heating and cooling equipment, and I entirely didn’t guess he was a certified HVAC worker. He came over to our new home and he worked on the HVAC system. He was tinkering around with everything and cleaning everything out. While I had to admit, he did a good task cleaning everything out, however other than that, I’m not sure that he knew what he was doing. He said he works on his HVAC unit all the time and he never entirely has any concerns. Well, a few afternoons later the HVAC system really failed. Both of us called the professionals this time around and the HVAC worker said somebody did a real number on our HVAC equipment, however at least it was scrub inside. He upgraded some parts and got the HVAC system now working good again. He reminded us never to let any people work on the unit who were not HVAC certified. He also told us to remember to change out the air filter every other week, and to remember to schedule an appointment to have the HVAC duct cleaned out sometime down the road. I told my husband that every one of us really wouldn’t be letting his sibling work on our unit ever again.

I have figured it out

The other day, I was trying to text our fiance that both of us needed our Heating and Air Conditioning system maintenance. Little did I feel I texted the wrong person! I actually texted our fiance’s sibling. He was replying saying not to waste our currency on an correct Heating and Air Conditioning business since he could handle the maintenance on his own for no charge to us. I was skeptical of his skills with heating and cooling equipment, and I really didn’t feel he was a certified Heating and Air Conditioning professional. He came over to our home and he worked on the Heating and Air Conditioning system. He was tinkering around with everything and cleaning everything out. While I had to admit, he did a fantastic work cleaning everything out, however other than that, I’m not sure that he knew what he was doing. Every one of us called the professionals this time around and the Heating and Air Conditioning professional said somebody did a real number on our Heating and Air Conditioning equipment, however at least it was clean inside. He replaced some parts and got the Heating and Air Conditioning system working fantastic again. He reminded us never to let any people work on the equipment who were not Heating and Air Conditioning certified.
