Vacations and some good memories

My friends and I went to a strip club last night to see some beautiful women working the art of self beauty. One of the girls happened to be a good friend of mine and we all enjoy supporting her! The night we were there had a circus night theme and the girls went wild. During the show I went to the car to grab more cash and noticed suddenly the lights went out and the temperature raised. The A/C went out! Without lights and A/C it obviously made it difficult for the girls to continue their show. The manager began to panic telling the girls that everything will work out and it will all be ok. Five to ten minutes later my friend comes up with an idea and goes to the manager and suggests picking up portable lights and candles. The manager responds with an excited yes. So my buddy and I headed to the store to pick up the biggest and brightest lights while they opened the door to cool the place down. The manager lowered the entrance cover charge for the inconvenience. For the time being we made everything work and the show went on! The following day the manager got ahold of the local HVAC company and scheduled an appointment to have the A/C checked out. It was a super easy fix, but not cheap! Indeed there was something wrong with the Air Conditioner and Heater system, it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, replacing the A/C cost more than just the cost of the A/C, it also cost him business for a while.

We worked all day on that

When I planned our move to a lake house in a state up north, one of the changes that was exciting myself and others the most was finally having a fireplace for the first time in our life.  Having grown up in the south where you’re more likely to find a screened lanai than a chimney or fireplace, I had never even been inside a home or building before with actual lit wood inside a fireplace or woodstove.  I had only images from movies plus tv shows to acquaintance with the experience, not the physical stink or the respiratory effects. My greatest health problem is our asthma; the rest of our body is in fantastic shape, however our lungs have never been at 100% regardless of our environment or habits.  Some locales are better than others, especially after I moved out of a moldy house that had been giving myself and others woes for years. But I never stopped to suppose about how this would play out with burning wood in our house. I thought all of it went up our chimney plus wouldn’t affect our lungs.  Unfortunately, it’s an older home plus despite respected chimney cleanings done by previous owners, it just doesn’t completely vent out all of the smoke when you have a fire roaring. I was having troubles wheezing plus coughing for weeks before I gave up plus had a current oil furnace installed to get myself and others through the rest of the Winter season.  I have already looked into investing in a brand current wood stove plus an updating chimney venting proposal put into locale for the following year. This should help remove some of the residual smoke that lingers in our home plus aggravates our lungs. For now the gas oil furnace I installed should get myself and others through til Springtime.

I designed the interior of the home

I have been a writer for over a decade, and I am only now finally getting a room of my own. A writing room has been something I have always dreamed about. Now that I am landing my first big publishing deal, my husband and I have decided that I am finally ready to take up my own space in the house just for my work. See, between he and I and our adopted son, I definitely need a little more peace and quiet to be my tasks done. Now that I have this publishing contract, my debut novel has become a trilogy. While this is wonderful news, it also means that I now have to get the next two novels out on very exacting deadlines. It can be done, but I’ll need to be able to stay focused to do it. I also needed the perfect desk, and as my husband has found out, I sort of hate everything. I don’t like the big wood desks, nor the tiny secretary desks. When I was about ready to give up, he called a custom made furniture store and booked an appointment. I was worried that my advance wouldn’t cover it, but he assured me it was a gift for all of my hard work and to celebrate this new milestone. The custom made furniture store staff helped me build the perfect desk, which is very light and airy, so that it suits my needs. It has places to store my books, and even a little spot to prop a notebook while I type things up. I couldn’t be happier with my custom made desk.

I need something with character

I love modern furniture, and now so does everyone else. You can’t go into a single home goods store today without finding another take on retro modern style. While this is a really cool thing for people shopping on a budget, for me it also makes the job of finding well built furniture that much harder. Everything today is either built in factories, or sweatshops, or both. Either way, I make a huge sacrifice both in quality and my own morals to get what I want. And as life is so short, I refuse to do either. I put my dollars towards local business and quality craftsmanship, so I don’t have to go replacing that cute but cheap velvet mod armchair in the next two years. For the best in contemporary condo furniture, I only trust my local custom built furniture store. These guys know the trade and art of building incredible furniture that is made to last.  You can really tell too from the moment you walk in. The woods are bright, the textiles softer, and when you sit in a custom chair, you know by the level of comfort and quality you can feel. My custom built contemporary condo furniture does not wobble, creak, or groan, which is important when you’re a plus size girl. Here everything is made from real wood–not pressboard and plastic–and the designs are tailored just for you. I can have an armchair made wider and taller to really support me, or adjust the height of the legs so it’s easier for me to get in and out of. My custom built contemporary condo furniture is made to fit my life perfectly.

European furniture

Finding truly authentic European furniture is not for the faint of heart when you live in the United States. Looking around in stores, you are unlikely to find anything that even comes close to what you’re looking for. Then if you go hunting online, you’ll find styles which are nearly an exact match. However, in buying furniture online, you both have to deal with the uncertainty of quality as well as egregious high costs due to shipping fees. But since my husband and I both adore European homes and have purchased a house that is exactly that, we need the furniture in our home to reflect it. Neither of us will tolerate this amazing home to be subject to boring, classless, tasteless furniture pieces. That is why we gave up on buying furniture from a retailer at all, and instead went straight to the source to have custom furniture built for us. Custom built furniture is indeed a bit more costly than retail pieces. Yet here you are paying both for the ability to get exactly what you want and the piece of mind that only comes with incredible quality. The designers were very kind in helping us with both sketches of our custom ideas, and pictures of vintage furniture to help further inspire us. Not only did they communicate our style back to us, but they helped us to embrace it even further. So far we have tackled the living room, kitchen, and our bedroom. Our Christmas present to each other is going to be this stunning European furniture dining table and chairs.

I saw something great

Who knew a simple thing like a leather chair could be such a headache? My partner just finished his transition from working in the office to working at home in order to be prepared for our new son. This way, he will be at home with me help me raise him every step of the way. A big part of this was having a home office that was not just a space for him to work, but a private space to have people over to meet in person if need be. We have everything we need but one thing–a set of two leather chairs for clients or coworkers to sit in when they stop by for a meeting. However, finding the right thing for his exacting tastes has been a trial neither of us expected. The leather chairs we find fit into two categories, stuffed and dining room. Either we’re looking at these thing armless chairs with just a leather pad for comfort while eating, or a massive stuffed leather recliner used to curl up in by the TV. In the end, my partner did some digging and found out about custom leather chairs from a local craftsman. This family owned business has been crafting custom build furniture for nearly a century. The listened to the unique needs of my partner and drew up multiple sketches for him to choose from. He was able to feel out the exact leather he wanted, and even find the right type and stain of wood. By the end of next month, he will have the perfect leather chairs to make his home office complete.

We lived there for weeks

But I never stopped to believe about how this would play out with burning wood in my house. I thought all of it went up my chimney and wouldn’t affect my lungs.  Unfortunately, it’s an older loft and despite regular chimney cleanings done by previous owners, it just doesn’t completely vent out all of the smoke when you have a fire roaring. I was having issues wheezing and coughing for weeks before I provided up and had a new furnace installed to get myself and others through the rest of the Winter time season.  I have already looked into investing in a brand new wood stove and an updating chimney venting system put into place for the following year.
