I hate going to the gym, because of the other people

I enjoy beer, but the problem is my middle aged metabolism can no longer handle it.

  • I have the tolerance of a Russian bear, and can crush a twelve pack as quick as you please.

Doing that when I was in my twenties seemed to carry no repercussions, but now I am in my forties, and it is all catching up with me. Not only do I need to pump the brakes on my consumption, I need to get on a program of some kind to get rid of this extra beer weight. Everyone says I should join a gym, and there are lot of great reasons for that. At the gym there is a huge array of workout equipment, more than I could ever afford to have in my home. There are also personal trainers on staff, who will either consult with you privately, or just offer you advice on the gym floor as you go along. Then there are the myriad workout classes, in two dozen different topics ranging from yoga to cross fit to something called “booty school.” All of this, and it costs twenty five bucks a month for the “introductory rate” of gym membership fees. I think this is a reasonable cost for a gym with so much to offer, but on the other hand, I really hate people. I hate being around people, and so going to a gym full of gross, sweaty, rude people will not be a good way for me to get healthy. I need to find a private personal trainer who can guide me.
