My djembe drum is actually beginning to fall apart and is in need of some up-to-date strings to tighten the drum head.
I will go to the local contractor later to see if they sell the strings and do the tuning completely on my own. There are a large amount of videos on YouTube showing how to string a djembe so I am going to take care of everything myself. We are going to do a show at the heating and cooling equipment corporation for a contractor celebration soon and I need my drum to be totally ready for it. I have a fine sound system for sure and an unbelievable guitarist to perform with and we are both gleeful about the opportunity to play for all of the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment techs and salespeople. Some of them happen to be musicians and we want to show them our enjoyable style to see what they think of everything. We do mostly a jazz kind of performance, making up music completely in the moment. If it goes well, the owner of the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment contractor is going to get us to do some additional shows at the other Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment businesses in other towns. We have only been playing together for a very short while however the chemistry we have is wonderful and it genuinely seems as though we’ve been playing together for a long duration of time. I’ve recorded a small amount of music and put them online and we’ve gotten a tremendous amount of views and fine comments so it is pretty exciting. I still have to do work at the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C contractor for money, however playing music is the most thrilling thing in the world to do, even if it is totally for free.
