Why Clean the HVAC System’s Filter?

I’ve been sneezing a lot recently and am starting to think that maybe it is time to clean the filter in my central unit.

Do we even need to clean the filters? Let’s have a little chat about it and see if we can come up with some ideas.

At some point, everyone has wondered why it’s so important to clean the HVAC system filter. After all, ductwork and thermostats don’t usually get dirty. But the HVAC tech who comes to service your heating or cooling system says it’s essential. Here’s why: A furnace filter or an AC filter helps to remove contaminants from the air. The ductwork carries these contaminants, which can include dust, pollen, and pet dander, into the living space. A clean furnace filter or AC filter helps to remove these contaminants and improve the quality of the air you breathe. In addition, a clean filter helps to improve the efficiency of the HVAC system, which can save you money on your energy bill. Finally, a clean filter helps to prolong the life of the HVAC system by preventing dirt and dust from building up on vital components. For all these reasons, it’s important to regularly clean the HVAC system filter. If you don’t like to do it yourself, or don’t know how, then you can get a service plan with a good company and they will do it for you on a regular basis so you don’t have to worry about it yourself. A lot of HVAC companies offer service plans for five years at a good price.
