Of course, living through and in the midst of a pandemic will certain get you to focus on the health of yourself and your family. This has certainly been the case for me. But that’s a fairly reasonable reaction in the face of a global pandemic. There’ve been a lot of changes that we’ve had to react to both individually and as a family. Like working from the central air conditioning of home was a big one. My wife even lost her part time job and she too had to figure out how to get gigs online while working from the air conditioning at home. But all of this forced us to be closer. Of course, we were forced to be in the same space but we also really came together as a unit. I’m just so pleased to realize that we have fared far better than I initially thought we would. From things like being able to agree on the HVAC thermostat setting to who does what when it’s time to do chores, it’s really worked out. I was so ready for all of this time inside the central air conditioning of our home to be outright ugly at times. But that hasn’t been the case at all. In fact, the pandemic forced me to consider the indoor air quality of our home. I wanted to be sure that we were strengthening our immune response as best we could. Doing so was pretty easy and all it took was a bit of an HVAC upgrade. I replaced the cheap HVAC air filters with HEPA filters. These are filters actually remove more than ninety nine percent of contaminants that are hanging in the air. So this was another benefit that was unexpected due to the pandemic.

I visited our goddaughter a few weeks ago, and something inspiring happened.

My goddaughter was so keen on what the professionals were doing that you would have thought she was learning more about air conditioning. The professionals fixed the quality air conditioning and restored indoor comfort. I had always emphasized to our friend to ensure official schedule tune-ups for her HVAC equipment, but being a current mother with a lot on her plate, she would forget most times. I should have known better than to let my brother stay the night.

Ever since high school, my younger brother has been nothing but trouble.

He hangs out with the wrong kind of people, and all of their bad habits rub off on him. He has gotten in trouble with the law before because of his drug use, as well as DUIs. No matter what I say, or what my parents do, he doesn’t listen. It seems lately he has been getting into stealing, as I learned the hard way. You see, what happened was my brother just got out of jail and needed a place to sleep. He called me and asked to stay at my place. Now my brother is good at keeping his word when it comes to leaving, and he hadn’t done anything personally to me so far, and so I didn’t have too much of a reason to believe he would. I guess I should have known better because of his history, because the one night he was here, he stole my portable air conditioning device. I don’t know why he took the portable cooling unit rather than my TV, but he did. I noticed the missing portable HVAC machine early the next morning, right after he left. I called him and he claimed he had no idea what I was talking about, but I know that he stole the portable cooling component, because I always have the cooling machine in the same place. I have never moved the heating and cooling device since I got it, and now it is gone.

I was tired of living in a place with subpar air quality.

I know that a lot of people don’t really care about, or even think about their indoor air quality but I do.

That is probably because I am sensitive to stuffy indoor conditions. If the air quality is not good, then I can almost guarantee that I am going to be sneezing and coughing all day, which is not a fun feeling. Because I like to avoid feeling sick all of the time, I always make sure to do what I can to improve the indoor air quality. In my own home, I have done just that. In my house, I always use the highest brand filters, HEPA filters, as well as I invested in a whole home air purification system. When I am in my own house, with the air cleaner running, I feel completely normal. However, since I can’t always be in my home, I sometimes run into issues when leaving. Like right now I am staying at a hotel temporarily. The hotel’s air quality is awful in comparison to my home, and I could tell. Only after being in this hotel for 30 minutes, I was already feeling sick. So I started looking online for a way to take care of this issue, so I wouldn’t have to suffer, and I think I found a solution. There is actually such a thing as a portable air purifier. A portable air cleaning system would be perfect for me to take on the go whenever I am traveling. There is a HVAC store not that far away from me that sells these portable air purification systems, and I think I will go there and buy one today.

As much as I love my husband, if there is something that drives me crazy, it is his smoking. Not only is it a big money sink, and that money could be redirected to something more important, but it ends up stinking up the entire place! Our entire home ends up smelling like one big ashtray, and I hate it. He has only been smoking for a few years, and I really wished his friend did not convince him to do so. Something else that has been bothering me, is ever since he has started smoking the air quality has really gone downhill as well. I have never been one to care that much about the indoor air quality of the home, but when it is affecting my breathing, that is when I have an issue. I have tried thoroughly cleaning the home, but really, that doesn’t even touch the surface of the issue. The solution would be for my husband to stop smoking, but since I don’t see that happening, I have to find other methods to help remove the smell and improve the indoor air quality. Someone online recommended getting a whole home media air cleaner. I have heard a lot of good things about whole home media air purifiers, and after multiple recommendations, I decided I am going to go for one. An air purification system is pretty expensive, but I think it will be worth it for the better air quality. I decided I will call a HVAC corporation tomorrow to ask about their air cleaning equipment.

Even though I clean my home every single week, somehow there is always hair on the spots I cleaned the very next day, if not sooner than that.

This is always really frustrating for me, because I can’t stand having a ton of hair everywhere, and so I always end up recleaning multiple spots in my home.

Well, I was telling my friend about my issue, and he suggested something that I never thought of before, and that is duct cleaning. My friend made a good point when he told me that no matter how much I cleaned, it wasn’t going to do much good, if my ductwork was dirty. Because then every time I turned on the heating and A/C unit, I was just spreading that dirt and hair everywhere in my home, ruining all of my hard work. Suddenly it all made sense, and I wish I had thought of his idea sooner! As soon as I made it home, I immediately called the local heating dealer and asked for a duct cleaning appointment. Thankfully, they were available for tomorrow, so I would not have to wait very long. Apparently for a ductwork cleaning, it actually takes a team of HVAC technicians to come over to my home to clean it thoroughly. So I guess I will be having a team of A/C workers at my home tomorrow. I am super excited to see the results of the A/C duct cleaning, I am hoping this will put an end to the constant cleaning I have to do.
