This week I already have my dinner ready as I cooked it this morning when I got up so that I wouldn’t have to do it later when I am fatigued.

This week is going to be an afternoon of no exercise and no drumming or singing so that I can rest this fatigued body a bit. The past week I have either played beach volleyball, or drums and singing in the band, for a total of five afternoons out of seven. So needless to say, I am also pretty wiped out and in need of a fantastic rest afternoon and a long night of fantastic sleep. I just have to go get some food at two nearby stores, which will take me all of about half an hour, and then my heating and air conditioning system is going to need a little attention. I will just do the shopping this week and have another simple afternoon with the cats in my flat and just love living in this peaceful abode. My A/C works great and I even have a backup unit in my living room in case the main one breaks down or something happens that requires an extra unit. I will simply wipe my washable HEPA filter later on this week and that is pretty much all I am doing this week other than play music at night with my bandmates. I try to just focus on music because it gives me so much delight and fulfillment that I feel I should put most of my energy into seeing how it will blossom. For now, it is also A/C and cats.

I have to wait two more hours before I go to buy food because it is Sunday and the stores are usually jammed up with clients the whole morning until the early afternoon.

• I also think it starts to slow down around 2pm although I like to wait till 3:30pm when it is at its slowest so I can have a relaxed shopping experience.

I gave this lady clerk our music card because I made an ecstatic song and it reminds me of her energy and I want to see if she likes the music. My fantastic friend and I keep giving local businesses our cards and spreading them around the town to see what the local corporations think of the music. So far we have been getting a lot of positive feedback and some clubs are wanting to book us. But we want to play in weather controlled bars and not in ones that are too sizzling or cold without any heating or cooling. I think we will wait one more year before we start to tour because we are still trying to get our sound down and want to have a distinct style when we tour so we look good. I also think next year we will put out our debut album with our top 13 music, which will work great in local businesses and even in the heating and air conditioning supplier where we both work. My all time fantastic friend and I are going to do the ski cottages in the winter time as we have a fantastic little cottage at the base of the mountain and are in the perfect spot for doing shows.

It is Sunday and I am feeling it. This past weekend we played in the band Sunday and Sunday for a total of about five hours and my hands and voice were totally shot. My fantastic friend and I are simply making some apartment grown Cali music from the old school 408 town where I used to play volleyball back in the 90s, which is world famous for skateboards. I have some seriously deep roots from Cali and I am blending that spirit with our music as I am a sand shark from way back, ever since I picked up a skimboard in the Cruz, and heating and air conditioning repairs keep me going so I can keep playing music on the weather conditions controlled beaches and refining our style. I also think in about two years we will have our style down and will be making all sorts of music in that genre. My fantastic friend and I need to talk about A/C and heating because that is what we both do when we are not making music. My fantastic friend and I are also trying to get our look down so that we can dress the part, which is going to be a Cali beach vibe with the colors black and red. It is also all coming together so suddenly and the heating and air conditioning supplier where we work has been great about giving us time off from the heating and cooling work to do our music venture. I think in about two years we will have to leave the supplier and just focus on music because all of these beach bars are trying to get us to come play at their bars.

This week is going to be a giant afternoon of writing as I try to write 14 articles… I fell behind a bit this weekend because our band was playing on Sunday night and Sunday night and I had no time to do my work.

But we also made some new and legitimately fantastic music and it was well worth it. So this week, I am going to be laboring from my apartment most of the afternoon because it takes me a fantastic 15 minutes or so to write one article. I go slow when writing heating and air conditioning stories because I have to think of what to write about. Some writers can just rattle off one story after another without thinking much about it, but for me the process is a bit slower. I occasionally take a cut to adjust my smart temperature control when it is getting too stuffy in the flat, or other times I will turn on the heated flooring because it is too cold for my feet in the winter time when I am walking around my flat. I purchased many pairs of wool socks for winter time but they seem to wear out suddenly as I drag my feet when I walk in the flat, but my radiant radiant heated floors are a game changer though and they legitimately do a fantastic job of heating up my feet so I don’t need to buy more socks. I like where I live and would care about staying here another five or so years before moving to a rooftop flat so I can work on a garden each afternoon like my heating and air conditioning tech friend does.

Ahh we made some legitimately cool music this past weekend, and even with the cops stopping us it was worth it. My fantastic friend and I have a constant battle with the police about playing music in the streets with amplified sound. On one hand you have all the ecstatic people watching us and dancing and singing, and on the other hand you have the irritated people in their flats calling the cops when they hear us playing. It is a great line trying to walk this tightrope without getting arrested, but music has such a strong pull that it’s worth the risk. Central heating and cooling repairs are looming in the background as my central heating and air conditioning system makes some funny new sound. Well, I wouldn’t call it a funny sound because that funny sound is entirely going to cost me $1000. But then again, I am simply friends with the heating and air conditioning tech at the local company and they will entirely repair the system for a fantastic price. I mean, they have fantastic prices regardless of whether they know you or not, so getting the unit fixed is going to have to happen either way. I just want to have some cold air con soon when the temps start to get into the sizzling zone, which is going to be within a few weeks I bet. My fantastic friend and I are also almost in the month of July now and things are going to start heating up again. July and November are the legitimately sizzling months though and we will be running the A/C almost nonstop, but that is great because I like it hot.

It is almost 3pm and I am chipping away at my work for the day.

• I am down to about 30 minutes left and then I am going to hit the store and get some food for the week.

Today is a holiday in the States, Memorial Day, but overseas it is just another normal day as far as everyone is concerned. I am working like I do every day and just listening to some relaxing meditation music to keep me focused while I finish up my workday so I can get to my shopping and yoga session. Then a climate controlled ride on my bike in the nice cool weather outside will be in order to get some fresh air and see a friendly face or two. But I won’t go out until after 5pm because the sun is too intense here in the Mediterranean and I like to stay in air conditioned luxury till the sun eases off a bit. Usually by 5pm or so you can go out in the sun without getting burned, but in the middle of the summer it is better to stay out of the sun until 6pm. The local businesses stay open late in the summer and my air con system is running full tilt to keep us cool in the flat each day. So today I will get my shopping done and yoga done and then maybe work another 30 minutes to wait for the sun to sink a bit more. The refrigeration in the food stores are great because they keep them really cool for shopping comfort.

Those are the lyrics to our Feelin’ Happy song and I made them up in the moment, which seems like an easier way for me to write lyrics than sitting down and trying to think of something to write about.

Anyway, I’ve been working on happiness for basically my entire life, trying to find things (like cold air conditioning) that bring me happiness and joy, ever since I was as small as I can remember being. My gramps worked for GE and made heating and cooling devices, along with defense equipment way back during the war, and I can still remember when I was really small, him working on the electric furnace or the fireplace and it makes me smile. I’ve had a pretty cool life so far and I am wondering what this newer musical venture that I have put myself on is going to end up when I am done with it. We’ve been playing in climate controlled local businesses for almost the entire year and a half we’ve been together. We have a lot of experience in the performing arts, over 40 years combined, and it seemed like we hit the ground running making 30 songs our first year or so. I wonder if we’ll play in air conditioned theaters one day or big HVAC cooled concert halls with an audience there singing and laughing. Time will tell I guess.

My friends were trying to get me to vote yesterday but I ended up skipping it for several reasons, the main being I have no clue about politics in any way shape or form.

My whole life I have avoided watching the news or reading the newspaper because I saw how it affected my parents and made them more stressed out and angry.

So I told myself I would not watch or read anything about the news, and I’ve stuck to that promise my entire life, even at the ripe older age of 56 years. So instead of the air conditioned voting booths I rode to the beach with my drum and guitar to enjoy some natural climate control from the breeze on the beach and play some music. I think that choice will make me a better person, a better able person to help the world in what ways I can instead of worrying about all the news stories. I can focus more on playing music in non air conditioned streets for free, just to make them happy and make me happy in the process too. I did stand up comedy for 15 years and basically made no money doing it, but I made a heck of a lot of people happy, if even only for that moment. My local contractor friend told me that doing good things like this is one of the best ways you can help the world, which my other HVAC tech friend agreed with and is doing the same. So I guess I’m on the right track then.

I have 90 minutes to go before I head to buy more food for these beasts of cats I have.

They both look like black panthers and eat like horses. I have to hide their food because they just want to keep eating and they will get fat like my roommate’s cat, who we have now put on a diet. I thought you could feed cats as much as you wanted but they will just keep eating more and more. So now they hunt me down in the morning like prey, asking me to feed them or else. My air conditioning system in my bedroom, which is a portable unit that I bought so I don’t freeze out my little roommate. She is a small lady and gets cold easily, while I am like an ice shark, who could survive in the Arctic Circle with nothing more than a Tshirt and shorts. I like cooling my bedroom down to 60 F and have a fan on me all night while I sleep on top of the covers most of the time because my body is heating up like a fire when I’m covered with blankets or sheets. Anyway, today is a slow progressing day with my work online as I keep getting distracted listening to our new songs we just uploaded. I guess I need to focus on air conditioning and space heating systems and put the music on the backburner till this is all finished for the day. Okay, the music is off and now it is time to get down to HVAC business.

It is time to take a little break soon and get this shopping thing done.

I’m just chilling at home today with my two black cats and a third cat, which usually just stays in the back bedroom and sleeps because it is a lot older and kind of cranky.

When we try to let it out to hang out with my young cats it just attacks them out of fear and so we have to put it back in the bedroom alone. It’s almost like solitary confinement where an animal gets angrier when left alone, but attacking my cats and HEPA filter when it has a clawing fit, so we are left with no choice but to keep it alone. My cats are defending themselves pretty well as they are faster than the old cranky cat, swiping it in the nose with a claw to tell it who is the real boss in the fight. My air purifier is a good safe spot for my cats because the fat cat can’t jump up on the HVAC unit to get to them. It is a pretty plump cat, spending its time sleeping when it isn’t eating, so it really doesn’t do well with the jumping thing. So all my cats have to do is jump on the portable a/c unit in my bedroom to escape the old angry lady, or they can run to the living room and jump on the whole home air purifying system to escape the wrath of the old fat lady cat.
