Want a good electric heater
I may sound love an idiot when I say this, however it is our sincerely true feelings. I love electric heating systems over any kind of other furnaces. I think that heating systems ran by a heat pump and even radiant radiant floors are not undoubtedly electric based all the way, but, to me, they don’t give as much heat as a good old fashioned electric central heating plan unit! I have tried the other non-electric and non-central heating routs as experiments. And sure, the energy bills were a lot lower, and I saved a lot of money; However, our house was constantly freezing in spots, and that is not good indoor temperature control! It could be because of how our house is absolutely built that makes it this way. I am not totally sure on this matter. All I think is, no matter what anyone says, I will constantly favor our electric central heating plan over any other kind of heating plan or method. Take the heat pump for example….this is something that undoubtedly does do a good job at heating, but, it is so darn fancy to get 1 of those heat pump things, but maybe for the well off or the rich that want to pinch pennies to save money that’s cool! But for me, you will never see myself and others being able to afford a heat pump! I experienced the heat pump at our sister’s house and it was good. If I ever win the lotto or something love that, maybe I would get a heat pump, and until then, I will remain with our electric heating and nothing else!

Hockey rink heater issues
We have a local ice skating rink where I live, and the locale does its best business in the winter, it is opened all year round, but hardly anyone goes in there in the summer, this past winter, there was an issue with the commercial furnace that they have in the ice skating rink.
The heating was pumping out a little too high, and it was causing the ice to start melting and almost turning to slush! This caused such a major issue, that they closed the locale for an entire month to repair the situation.
The commercial furnace somehow was pumping overtime…so to speak, however from what I heard from someone who works there, was that the control component had a lot to do with it! And then, on top of that, the water pipes that keep the ice in one piece under the rink were not laboring right, and so, here you have 2 complications assisting each other in making things bad, you have the commercial furnace pumping out a little too much heat, then you have the water pipes not keeping the ice frozen. Imagine how dangerous that may have been had they not caught that in time. A lot of people could have been skating, and then the ice would have turned to a small river! Especially if young children may have been on the ice when it began melting away, however very dangerous! I have to say, those commercial heating systems can be quite tricky sometimes. I am ecstatic I only deal with residential heating systems in our own home! I know all of us should be glad for small things in life.

We have had a few stumbling blocks along the way that threatened to push that deadline back, but, for the most part we have been able to overcome them. This latest one, however, will not be so easy to work out. The HVAC dealer used a design team that made some serious mistakes in their calculations. The components that were ordered took months to arrive and once they did they were all wrong. The area they should have been installed in was too small and we have been trying to find a way to expand it. We can either move a wall in the basement area, or we can reorder a new unit that will fit the space and still provide enough power to supply the building with quality heating and cooling. I have been working night and day trying to come up with the best solution for the problem and the HVAC dealer has too. They were very apologetic when they discovered the mistake and admitted that they had gone with a new design team that they probably should not have trusted with such a large undertaking. The bottom line now is just to get the problem fixed without costing the investors time or money. My reputation as a contractor is on the line for this one too and I can’t afford to let them down.
Sweating through the oldies
When I took a job as an activities director at the largest retirement community in town I figured it would be fun.
I could organize day trips, bingo games, and even exercise classes for the residents.
I even had plans for golf tournaments and craft classes because I knew that these type of things appealed to older people. I didn’t realize that I would be spending my days stuck in a rec hall waiting for someone to show up looking for something to do. I drastically underestimated the social activity of what I considered to be senior citizens. They are very active and unlike those of the past. Years ago, those living in retirement homes were willing to while away their days playing cards, watching TV and waiting for visitors to come see them. Now, they are involved in clubs, travel, and volunteering with non profit organizations all on their own. My boss told me to organize events and it would attract those who were unable to be involved in other areas. I did form a book club that has a whopping ten members and they meet twice a week in the new library section of the rec hall. We also prepare a weekly meal for anyone who wants to socialize. Those days are the worst in my opinion. Not that I mind having to prepare the meal, that part of the building is climate controlled, it is the main part of the hall that is miserable. With its high ceilings and lack of outer doors they decided that having the windows open and installing ceiling fans was sufficient. They don’t even have real ventilation in there. During the summer months the heat builds up and and has nowhere to go. Even the ceiling fans are not powerful enough to push the hot air down and out the open windows. We do have many people who attend the dinner but serving them and cleaning the dining area afterwards is just touture because I sweat profusely the entire time.
Have HVAC units ever caused any damage?
I have so much trouble with water destruction in my house… It isn’t that my roof is leaky or that all of us are legitimately flooded.
In fact, I have spent thoUnited Statesnds of dollars sealing my entire basement plus redoing my entire roof to make sure that all of us have no water coming into our house, however on the other hand, all of us have a ton of water destruction that is caused by our HVAC units.
Obviously, you can do a lot more destruction with flooding or roof leaks than you can with HVAC units, however hear me out here. I used to use window cooling systems throughout my entire house, and unfortunately, my home was built a long time ago, plus the windows tilt forward, which means that the window cooling systems tilt forward while resting on the window frame, now, I knew that window cooling systems, like every other kind of cooling system, will leak water outside as a way to rid itself of condensation. Unfortunately, since my window cooling systems were tilted forward, all of that water that should have been dripping outside was running down the bottom of the cooling system plus dripping into my window sill. I didn’t notice until the paint under the cooling system was starting to look discolored. Now, the cooling system is not the only HVAC machine that I have had trouble with… There have been a few times when my dehumidifier didn’t shut itself off when the water holding tank was full, plus it dripped all over my floor. Other times the entire holding section cracked, spilling immense puddles of water onto my floor.
