The other day when I heard some strange noises coming from my A/C condenser unit, I decided to change the air filter to my HVAC system.

• This caused the A/C condenser unit to quit making the noises.

Later on I decided to clean out the outdoor A/C condenser unit really well after shutting off the power to it. I felt like I had some sort of epiphany, like the HVAC system was telling me what needed to be done for it to be working great. Another thought came to me that I needed to have the ductwork system cleaned out to have excellent air flow. I couldn’t remember the last time I had that done, so I called up the HVAC professionals to have the ductwork cleaned. While the HVAC technician was at my place taking care of the ductwork cleaning, I had him check out my HVAC equipment as well. He said that everything was looking great and running fine. He showed me the before and after pictures of the ductwork and I was really happy that I decided to have that done. The ductwork had all kinds of clogs and blockages, but not anymore. I could tell that my HVAC system was running a lot more smoothly. Something that I was really happy about when the ductwork was cleaned was the improved air quality. I couldn’t remember the last time the air quality in my home was so great. It was like I was working with a brand new HVAC system at this point. It goes to show that a little HVAC system maintenance goes a long ways.

Before winter, I bought my wife this beautiful red velvet winter coat along with some elegant velvet matching gloves.

She absolutely loves wearing her coat with her gloves just about everywhere she goes when it is really cold outside. She’s all about style and I appreciate the way she looks when wearing that stylish coat. It’s incredibly warm too and she tells me all the time how much she appreciates it. Another thing I appreciate is keeping perfectly warm in the winter months by keeping up with our HVAC system. That’s why I also made sure to get my HVAC system tune-up before winter came. We typically get the same HVAC technician everytime we call for needed HVAC maintenance and repair. I would never go into the winter or the summer without that important HVAC system tune-up, because I don’t ever want to experience any kind of HVAC system failure during those times. I like to keep my wife happy and comfortable, and if that were to happen, I would feel so bad about it. I know that we would probably get into some type of fight if it were my fault by failing to have the HVAC system worked on. I’m a responsible kind of guy though, so that’s something she will never have to worry about with me. It’s not like it’s overly difficult to keep up with the HVAC system maintenance. All you have to do is change your air filters regularly and call up the HVAC company. It’s so easy, anybody could do it really. Just make sure to have money put aside to cover the HVAC maintenance costs.

My wife and I were so happy when we finally found this beautiful home that had a nice fireplace in the living room.

We always make sure to have a chimney sweep come out every year to make sure everything is good to go with the fireplace.

We don’t want to experience any type of troubles in the winter season. Honestly, it’s my favorite time of the year because I love using that fireplace so much. We have a couple of comfortable chairs in front of the fireplace and we have a big screen TV to the side. This way I can always enjoy watching football while the fireplace is keeping me nice and toasty. I also enjoy reading in my chair while I have the fireplace going. I always keep a good sized supply of firewood, so that we can actually use the fireplace throughout the whole winter season. Of course we have a nice HVAC system as well. We even have HVAC zone control which is a really excellent feature of our HVAC. This way, we are able to heat and cool the areas of the home that are actually being used. I don’t like to waste energy and I certainly appreciate the lower energy bills. Usually when I am using the fireplace, I don’t bother with having the heating system working in the living room area. I love that fireplace so much because it is comforting and it saves me money on the energy bills just by using it regularly. If you’ve never been able to enjoy the comfort that comes from a fireplace, you should think about getting one!

 

furnace/heater tune-up

I may sound like an idiot when I say this, but it is my honestly true feelings.

I prefer electric heating systems over any kind of other heating systems.

I know that heating systems ran by a heat pump and even radiant heated floors are not really electric based all the way, but, to me, they don’t provide as much heat as a good old fashioned electric central heating system unit! I have tried the other non-electric and non-central heating routs as experiments. And yes, the energy bills were a lot lower, and I saved a lot of money. However, my house was always cold in spots, and that is not good indoor climate control! It could be because of how my house is actually built that makes it this way. I am not totally sure on this matter. All I know is, no matter what anyone says, I will always favor my electric central heating system over any other kind of heating system or method. Take the heat pump for example….this is something that really does do a good job at heating, however, it is so darn expensive to get one of those heat pump things. Maybe for the well off or the rich that want to pinch pennies to save money that’s cool. But for me, you will never see me being able to afford a heat pump! I experienced the heat pump at my sister’s house and it was good. If I ever win the lotto or something like that, maybe I would get a heat pump. Until then, I will remain with my electric heating and nothing else!

We have a local ice skating rink where I live, and the place does its best business in the winter.

• It is opened all year round, but hardly anyone goes in there in the summer.

This past winter, there was an issue with the commercial heating system that they have in the ice skating rink. The heating was pumping out a little too high, and it was causing the ice to start melting and almost turning to slush! This caused such a major issue, that they closed the place for an entire week to fix the situation. The commercial heating system somehow was pumping overtime…so to speak. From what I heard from someone who works there, was that the thermostat had a lot to do with it. And then, on top of that, the water pipes that keep the ice in one piece under the rink were not working right. So, here you have 2 issues assisting each other in making things bad. You have the commercial heating system pumping out a little too much heat, then you have the water pipes not keeping the ice frozen. Imagine how dangerous that may have been had they not caught that in time. A lot of people could have been skating, and then the ice would have turned to a small river! Especially if young children may have been on the ice when it began melting away. Very dangerous! I have to say, those commercial heating systems can be quite tricky sometimes. I am glad I only deal with residential heating systems in my own home! I guess we should be happy for small things in life.

I have three separate jobs that are all work from home.

I all combined to give me a pretty decent living.

Just because I work from home doesn’t mean it’s a breeze. I really have to be good with time management. Sure, you can set your own schedule, but if it’s not reasonably set, you’ll find pretty quickly that you’re lagging behind and at risk of losing your jobs. It’s still quite enjoyable though, I get to create my perfect working atmosphere, and it’s so peaceful and nobody bothers me! No nosy (or noisy) coworkers and the thermostat isn’t set too high or too low, because I control it! In the summer, my air conditioner feels great as I’m working in my home office. In the winter, I like to keep it extra toasty, to where I don’t even need to wear extra layers. That’s all fine and good, but I realized something. In order to set that temperature for my home office, the rest of the house had to be set to that temperature, and that was wasting a lot of money because I was spending all that time exclusively in the office! I didn’t know how to solve this problem until a neighbor told me about zone control heating and air one day. Zone control HVAC allows you to have multiple zones in your home that can be heated and cooled independently of one another. They each have their own separate thermostat. Now, I could finally set my home office to a very comfortable temperature while basically leaving the heating and air off in the rest of the house while I am working to save energy and money!

Air conditioners, last a pretty long time these days.

Naturally, without regular maintenance, their lifespan will be far shorter than it could be, however. That’s why I take the time to schedule regular maintenance appointments and do everything I can on my own to keep my HVAC unit running well. I change out the air filter, clean the drains, clean around the vents and exchangers and keep the outside unit clear of dirt and debris, etc. I’ve had my air conditioner for at least a decade, and I’m quite proud that it has been doing so well all these years. That’s why I was quite concerned this past summer when I realized that the air conditioner seemed to be slowly losing cooling power. It was subtle at first, but I realized the cool air coming from the vents was not as strong as before. It was taking longer and longer to cool rooms. Eventually, they never seemed to reach the desired temperature. It has been a decade since I got my new HVAC unit, as I said, and I have been taking good care of it. Surely it wasn’t dying on me so early? I tend to fear the worst, so I called out my trusty HVAC technician to see what the problem might be. He arrived the next afternoon to investigate. It did not take him long to discover that the culprit was actually a refrigerant leak. I don’t know why I did not consider the possibility. He recharged the refrigerant and patched the hole. Soon, cool air was coursing through the vents once more; what a relief!

I have got a lot of plans for the next tax return I should be getting, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the government doesn’t try to screw us out of any more of our own money, because I am eager to get these substitutes to my house! My old deck is weather beaten and falling apart at the edges, so I want a new deck, this time with solid pine boards. It will last forever, and look so much nicer than the dull brown wood we have now. The other this we need is a new heating plan in the house, something my wife has been wanting for years, then she has not mentioned the radiant heated flooring in a while, but I recognize that is what she entirely wants. It is a bit costly, I recognize for a fact, however it does sound pretty neat to have the heating plan under the floorboards. I always hated having freezing feet, so this style of heating would help me out in that regard. Since we do not need a new cooling system, I guess we can afford to spend a little extra on heating, however our central AC component is only more than four years old, and the last inspector told us it was still in A+ condition. If we get the radiant heated flooring, we will still need a new oil furnace, because the flooring can’t cover the whole house. Of course we can’t put it in upstairs, however some rooms downstairs have brick floors, so we will need a new oil furnace either way.

I searched for a long time before finding the ideal location to open a boutique-style restaurant… I needed a building that would be absolutely accessible to the public with plenty of parking.

However, I wanted the building to have a bit of style.

I found an older brick building with a portico, stained glass windows, plus lots of gorgeous hardwood inside; The only thing I didn’t love was the seasoned commercial Heating, Ventilation & A/C component resting beside the building. The heating/cooling component was enormous, harshly uncharming plus loud… Whenever it started up, the ductlabor rattled plus spewed dust into the indoor area. I hired a local Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor to come take a look plus deliver some recommendations. He was all for getting rid of the outdated Heating, Ventilation & A/C unit. With the age plus condition of the system, he doubted it would last for another two years. He suggested that I invest in a packaged rooftop component to handle temperature control, and as the name implies, this type of system is installed on the roof of the building. I acquired more space in the parking lot plus improved aesthetics! Plus, the heating plus cooling component is protected from vandalism plus potential damage from cars. Whenever it requires service, the system can be accessed by an Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor without disrupting our business, then because the Heating, Ventilation & A/C component is located up on the roof, the noise level is also minimized. I was able to reduce the amount plus size of the ductlabor as well. The rooftop heating plus cooling component has proven to be especially energy efficient plus maintains honestly even comfort all year round.
