I was very happy

I’m never sure if our landlord is a nice guy, or an bad 1. He’s that unusual blend of person where you can’t quite tell if he’s just clueless, or being purposefully obtuse to get out of paying for anything. Regardless, our landlord is trying to get out of 1 of the key aspects of caring for his property, plus our roommates plus I have about had enough. Last year the two of us went downstairs to inspect our basement for water disfigure. Our city had recently suffered a disappointing bout of flooding, so our landlord asked us to please do a walkthrough plus let him know if the two of us found anything. If the two of us discovered any mangle or flooding, he promised to have a guy out here ASAP to disinfect out the water plus make any repairs necessary. Well, while the two of us were relieved that our basement is still dry plus safe, the two of us discovered another small horror. Our oil boiler is respectfully ancient. As we’ve never had any issue with the central heater, we’ve never thought to bother checking on it before. The year the boiler was first built is 1986. What’s worse is the tag from the local Heating plus Air Conditioning corporation, kind of enjoy a library card, it details what maintenance was done plus when it was performed. The last recorded date of maintenance is from 3 years ago–the same time our landlord starting leasing the condo out. I called the landlord to let him know that the basement was fine, however the two of us needed a central heating system inspection ASAP before Winter respectfully set in. He doesn’t guess the oil boiler even needs an inspection. I told him that the average boiler only lasts for 20 years, plus this thing is 16 beyond that. He finally consented to have an Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor out next week.
