I am a horrible person and totally selfish. Once a month my grandparents want to get together with me and have lunch. Once a month I try to weasel out of it. It is not that I don’t love my grandparents. I just hate the whole experience. I work from home and set my own hours. With the lunch out, I know I am working late that day. I also don’t eat lunch, so I then feel sick all day long afterwards. The worst is that my grandparents always want to go to this cheap local diner. I am a vegetarian and there is only one thing I can get. I get sick off of it everytime. The diner also has something against heating. Everytime I go there, I am freezing cold. In the Winter I have to wear my full wool coat, hat and gloves for the meal. The lack of a heater makes eating and chatting real difficult. My grandparents don’t seem to notice it. They also like to hang around the diner for over an hour just sipping coffee. Since I don’t drink coffee and am freezing, I just want to get out of there. I have tried suggest having them come over to my place. I would gladly make them a lunch or dinner. I could then control the heating settings. I would set my furnace to a reasonable temperature. I would not need to wear my full Winter gear then. Also, if I controlled the food, I could actually eat something and not get sick. Nope, every single time we have to go to the diner with no heating and gross food.
