Last week, my wife and I threw a garden party for our friends and neighbors. We were doing this to show off our garden and flowers, but it was also a nice opportunity to show off our investments and make a few certain people jealous of our success! See, we have this other set of neighbors named the Stones. They’re a rich couple, and they often play off their wealth like it means nothing to them! Oh it’s enough to make me sick. Anyway, I knew they didn’t have a lovely garden like we had, so they were the ones we were trying to impress more than anyone else. Ironically, everyone was more obsessed with how cool and cozy it was inside of our house. That’s when we remembered that just the week before, we had the HVAC repair company come to perform a thorough inspection. During that inspection, the repair technician was able to tune up our A/C system and replace the air filter, while also cleaning out the ductwork to ensure there was no dirt or dust being circulated with the air. Not wanting to fight the crowd, my wife and I shrugged as we walked back inside. That’s where we saw the Stones, mingling with some of our guests. We approached them and thanked them for attending, to which they said there was “nothing better to do”. Oh, so petty! Anyway, we asked if they had a chance to see the outside garden, which they claimed they had. “We’re more interested in knowing who handles your home’s air conditioning system – it’s very cool in here, and I know you guys didn’t invest in a high-powered A/C system!” My wife rolled her eyes as she explained how we have a maintenance plan for our home’s HVAC system, and little to nothing more. They seemed unimpressed, and continued to mingle with other guests.
