Home in the country

When my wife and I purchased a beautiful lake home out in the country, we were very pleased with our new place. The thing that bothered me though was that there was no actual HVAC system. All we had was a wood burning stove as well as a fireplace. When I was talking to her about getting a gas furnace, she said that was what the fireplace was for! I couldn’t believe that so I asked her who was going to be chopping all the wood, because I had a bad back. She said if I couldn’t handle it, then she would. Well, that first winter was really difficult for us and honestly, we barely made it through. My back felt so much worse than previously and she was having a hard time as well. She gave in and let me know that we could upgrade to whatever heating system I wanted. I still loved the fireplace, but I didn’t want to have to rely on it for the majority of our heating needs. When I was talking to an HVAC technician about our options, he recommended the radiant heated floors. Pipes would be installed underneath the floorboards and would be hooked up to a boiler. The heat would slowly radiate upwards towards the ceiling and would evenly heat the entire place so there wouldn’t be a spot of cold air anywhere. Your feet would be nice and toasty and the air quality would be great because there would be no ductwork with air blowing or smoke from the fireplace. I thought it all sounded wonderful so I scheduled a date for the installation. It took about a week to have everything installed, but once everything was finished, it was wonderful! Never have I experienced such a perfect heating system in my life! I am never the least bit chilly, especially when I jump out of the shower in the morning!
