Damage that’s been done

It wasn’t easy to rebuild after a disastrous weekend at my house. It wasn’t a natural disaster, like a hurricane, tornado or wildfire, nor was it a man-made disaster. Well, in a sense, it was man-made, but it wasn’t something sensible like an electrical fire. In all honesty, it was a birthday party for a friend of mine that I foolishly decided to host. Needless to say, things got out of hand! There were multiple broken decorations around the house, and several stains that I knew would take professional assistance to remove. The worst damage, however, came from a friend whom I’m now very angry with, as he decided to see how many red solo cups he could flatten and jam into my outdoor A/C unit! I was wondering why my entire house felt so sticky, warm and smelled like beer. I only had to go outside and see the flattened cups sticking out of the A/C unit to know what caused the damage! I promptly called the local heating, ventilation and air conditioning system repair company to schedule an emergency visit, as it was a very hot summer weekend that I wasn’t willing to endure without air conditioning! While I waited patiently for the repair technician from the HVAC service company to appear, I furiously worked to remove as many of the cups from the unit as I could. I must’ve removed at least a dozen of these shredded, flattened cups by the time the HVAC specialist arrived. When he did, he took one look at the outdoor A/C unit and couldn’t contain his laughter! I couldn’t blame him – I’m sure he’d be talking about what he saw here to his buddies for weeks!
