Since I bought my new home at a relatively low price, I have realized that it was a bit of a fixer-upper. I have had to do a lot of remodeling since the initial purchase. Many of the appliances weren’t in great shape, so I had to replace them. I have had to redo the walls, and furniture as well. The wiring wasn’t great either, so that as well had to be replaced. However, My husband Jim and I really like doing these kinds of things. We are not very prepared though for what was wrong our new home’s heating and cooling system issues. We have always been used to living in a home that had a central HVAC system that, outside of a regular service call, never needed much attention. Whoever owned this home before us though didn’t give their HVAC system nearly enough love though. When we first moved into the home, noticed that our AC wasn’t what we were accustomed too. So forth, we called a service technician out to inspect our equipment. After looking over things, he was appalled with how downtrodden the HVAC system was. It was frustrating for sure, considering how much it would be to replace the cooling systems components, but the deal we got on the house would still justify the expense. Once we were done with the installation of the new parts, we also decided to upgrade to a programmable thermostat and zoned heating and cooling. As of now, we are really enjoying our central air conditioner, along with all the other upgrades we made to our home.
