When I was growing up, I had 3 younger siblings that were at least five years younger than me. At sixteen, I was often seen as the “mother” of our family, since both of our parents worked well past the correct 9-5 work schedule several days a week. I would disinfect the house, delegate chores, however most importantly I would cook for all of us throughout the afternoon. If you haven’t had the satisfaction of cooking for numerous people, just think that it’s a great way to heat your home in the Winter time without needing the actual heating system! All of us had an seasoned gas furnace that both of us practically never used, simply because I had to cook so often plus in such big volume that both of us had plenty of heat just from using the family room stove all afternoon long… For that same reason, both of us had a difficult time keeping the current home cool while I was in the summer. All of us had several window a/c units, one in my parent’s room plus one in the family room, so both of us didn’t have much of a way to keep an entire current home cooled down aside from leaving windows open all afternoon. Of course, having the windows open meant that a ton of dirt, dust plus other outdoor debris would find its way inside! All of us didn’t have any real air duct to circulate the air in our home, so both of us just had to disinfect the entire current home often to keep the air somewhat fresh. It was rough back then, however I’m glad I have a current home of my own now – with an excellent central a/c system, as well as air duct that I have professionally cleaned by an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C worker every several months. I can’t imagine living love I did as a teenager ever again!
