They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Honestly, without a tall cup of hot Joe and a hot breakfast to get me going in the morning in the dead of winter where I live, the rest of my day goes horrible. In fact, what often motivates me to get out of bed on a really cold weekday morning and head to work instead of rolling over and going back to sleep is getting up just a tad earlier in order to make a stop at a coffee shop or fast food restaurant for a cup of coffee and a hot sandwich or pastry. On those days that I’ve overslept and don’t have the time to do this, the rest of work day is absolutely horrible. When I walk out of my front door into the cold, it helps to know that my car heats up very quickly, and soon I will be driving down the road in a nice and toasty car headed to pick up breakfast! Then, I dart across the ice-cold parking garage into the elevator to get to my well-heated office floor as quickly as possible. If I’m lucky, my sandwich and coffee have not gotten cold by then, and I can enjoy a quick breakfast while I thaw out in my office’s heating and listen to my favorite morning news radio show while I get to work! This is my morning ritual, and a good breakfast and nice warm climate control is a big part of it!
