What convinced me to buy our home, was the loft room. I loved the way it was set up and I knew that it would make the perfect room for my children. My husband loved the property that went with the house. When our kids were little, I would have the door open, the heat would go upstairs and they would play all day long. I loved the idea that I could work in the kitchen and look up to see them. As they got older, it became a place to do homework and to hang out with their friends. When my daughter graduated and moved out, we turned the loft into a storage area. Last month, my daughter asked if she could bring her son and move home. She asked if we could also clean up the loft so she could use it. She wanted to have some mommy and son time. When I opened the door, I was shocked at how cold it was in there. I knew we had to put in some heating. I didn’t remember it being so cold when the kids were little. We tried to put an air vent in so that we could run it into the furnace, but there was no way to connect the ductwork. We finally ended up going to town and purchasing an electric baseboard heater. They told us the baseboard heater was energy efficient and it could heat a room twice the size of what we had. Our daughter loved her new private space, even though Brady liked to sneak away and come see Grammy and Papa.
