I was out at the mall doing some shopping, and right when you enter and exit the mall, there is this area that has all kinds of flyers for promotions from local businesses, information on different events in the area, and just general advertisements.
- I picked up this one flyer that was all about HVAC products and services.
It was a 2 page flyer that gave a small list of all the HVAC installation and repair companies in the area, and also there was a small portion that talked about saving energy use with heating and air conditioning. I found this particularly interesting. They were actually saying that if you did small things, like used a portable space heater in the winter during waking hours, or, if you used even a portable air conditioning unit in the summer during your waking hours, you could save up to 50 percent on your monthly electric bills. This was something that never crossed my mind! I always figured that portable space heaters were made for keeping you extra warm in the bathroom when getting out of the shower. And, portable air conditioning units were mostly used for when you were travelling, or for those that were unfortunate to not have a central heating and air conditioning system in their house. This opened up my eyes wide and made me realise that there is so much about heating and cooling I just didn’t know! As a matter of fact, I think I am going to go buy myself both a space heater and portable a/c soon!
