Youth fitness class for soccer team

I got suckered into being the middle school boys soccer coach.

The program would have shut down if they could not get a coach signed up.

My son begged and begged me until I relented. Now I am stuck instructing something I know nothing about. I don’t want to be a terrible coach and the sport to be an embarrassment at school. So I have done all the research, read some books and talked to other coaches. I have some ideas on drills for the actual sport. One thing that came up with any of my research is that the team needs to get in shape. Cardio is a huge part of soccer and my team is not great at it. The boys are all slightly chunky and slow. I found a core progression gym that offers youth fitness classes. I got a personal trainer willing to work with my team for the summer to whip them into shape. So far it has been a great thing for the boys. The personal trainer is a 20 something beautiful woman. The boys practically worship her. She is great at getting them to work hard and work as a team. They all want to impress her so they try more. Even if they don’t have good cardio by the end of the summer, at least we will be closer as a team. The boys are having so much fun doing the youth fitness class. I have noticed that some have already dropped some weight. Now I just need to get them better at soccer.
