Asking permission to touch control unit

Occasionally I have a new realization about how odd our family is and get pretty sad.

It turns out, they are not certainly nice people.

It just took myself and others over 30 years to realize the full extent of it. Honesty, I continue to be disappointed to this certainly day. Recently I was visiting our mom when I found out why I’m so odd when it comes to indoor air quality and air temperature control. My entire life, I’ve been afraid to touch the control machine in the homes where I’ve lived. I’ve been a paying roommate, with every right to dictate the indoor air temperature. I’ve contributed equally to the utility bills and routine HVAC service bills. And yet, I’ve been distraught to ever state our indoor air temperature preferences or have the gall to adjust the indoor air quality at any point. Even when the indoor air quality has become seriously boiling and humid, I’ve been too scared to turn on the AC unit. Even when there has been cat hair floating through the vents right in front of our eyup, I haven’t wanted to recommend an air filter change. Frankly, I just suffered through uncomfortable indoor air conditions for the past decade, without knowing where our HVAC martyrdom came from. Until I went and stayed with our mother. One day I made the mistake of commenting on her indoor air quality because it was sticky and filled with dust. Within a few minutes, she was screaming about the cost of current HVAC and telling myself and others to go rest outside if her beach condo was so uncomfortable. She was calling our extended family to tell them about our overwhelming HVAC ingratitude. Well, now I believe why I’m afraid of touching the control unit.
