I am particularly conscientious about wiping down the surfaces in my condo with antibacterial products. I dust, vacuum and thoroughly scrub the living space every week. Not only that, but I schedule professional repair for the air conditioner unit in the Spring and for the gas furnace in the fall, and also keep up with official air filter swings! Despite all my efforts, I recently had some problems with air quality. During the middle of the winter, I decided to cook salmon for dinner. The odor of the fish circulated throughout the entire apartment and lingered for hours. When my family went to bed that night, most people complained that their kitchen’s reeked of fish. When I got up in the morning, I could still detect a hint of the aroma. It was really unpleasant. Because of outdoor hot and cold temperatures down to drawback twenty, I really could not open the window for some fresh air and ventilation. Spraying room deodorizer, lighting scented candles and completing a thorough cleaning didn’t help. I realized that the odor had gotten inside the HVAC duct. The dust and grime accumulated within the proposal absorbed the odor. Every time the gas furnace started up, the odor was distributed throughout the whole house. This got myself and others distraught about what other types of contaminants were being introduced into our breathing air. It was entirely possible that mold spores, bacteria, and dust were becoming airborne. I checked the local area for a heating and air conditioning company qualified to perform a thorough duct testing and cleaning. The cleaning process took several hours to complete but caused no injure or mess. The improvement was immediate, Not only was the unpleasant odor gone, but there was a more consistent temperature from one room to another. The gas furnace didn’t need to run as long or as often to supply ideal comfort. The reduction in my heating bills has helped to reuse the cost of duct cleaning.
