I nearly broke my ankle last week when I was up on a ladder trying to clean out my air vents.
See, I’m one of those people who always tries to save money on things.
I’m always looking for a good sale or a coupon, especially when it comes to things like my HVAC system and doing HVAC repairs or improvements. I knew that the ventilation ducts in my house really needed to be cleaned out, because I haven’t had the air ducts cleaned once since we moved into our house five years ago! I know that sounds disgusting, but having clean air ducts has never really made it to the top of my priority list for some reason. Anyway, I wanted to clean out the ventilation ducts but when I looked online at our local heating and cooling company’s website, I thought that the pricing was way too much. I mean, how hard can it be to vacuum out your air ducts and your A/C vents? Well, it turns out that it’s very hard! I started off strong, sucking the dust and dirt out of the heating vents in the upstairs bathroom. But then when I wanted to clean the air vents on the ceiling in the hallway, I had to use a ladder. I ended up almost breaking my ankle when I fell off the ladder while trying to get to the rear of the last air vent! Turns out that paying an HVAC professional is not the worst idea in the world, no matter what the cost is.
