I can also sign up for group fitness classes such as pilates, yoga, spin and circuit training
I used to handle my workouts at home. I had no interest in signing up for a gym membership. I have a few free weights, a yoga mat, jump rope, weighted ball and weighted poles. I like to go for a run or ride my bike, and always managed a decent workout. Physical fitness is a priority in my life, and I exercise every single day. For our anniversary two years ago, my husband bought me a membership to the local fitness center. It was a really thoughtful gift. Since I didn’t want his money to go to waste, I decided to make the drive to the fitness center multiple times per week. I figured that after the year was up, I’d let the membership lapse. However, after one workout session at the fitness center, I changed my mind. Having access to such a wide range of equipment is amazing. I have to limit myself to an hour at the fitness center, or I’d be there all day. For aerobic workouts, I switch between the treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike and rowing machine. There are so many of each type that I never need to wait for a piece of equipment to be available. There all different styles of the machines with the latest features and technology. There are strength training machines that target each individual muscle group. I have access to weight benches, battle ropes, dumbbells, heavy bags, speed and bags. There’s an indoor running track and a rock climbing wall. I can also sign up for group fitness classes such as pilates, yoga, spin and circuit training. There are no distractions at the fitness center. I put on my headphones and concentrate completely on the workout.
