I worry about my elderly grandma and her lack of A/C

I worry about my Grandma a lot these days. Since my grandpa died, she’s been all alone in that house, and that is the way she likes it. My grandma insists on complete independence, which was fine for a while. She has really made her house her very own and I respect that. However, I’m starting to wonder whether or not she would do better in other accommodations. Her house is a two story and then it also has a basement in it. That means she’s going up and down stairs quite often, and so of course that worries me. She also insists on doing her own yard work, with a manual lawn-mower! Maybe she still has the same amount of strength and balance left to deal with such things, but it is the lack of climate control in that house that really worries me most. See, in the summertime, she barely even uses the A/C and she relies on a few fans here and there in the house. Using A/C would be far more effective, although I have to admit that even the A/C system is on its way out. She has a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist come out to repair it at least once a year, or so she tells me. I am seriously considering saving up the money to buy Grandma a brand new A/C unit. I do not think she would ever ignore such kindness coming from her granddaughter. And maybe she would even be thankful enough to use the A/C, or at least I hope!
