There are certain things a homeowner can tackle themselves & others they cannot.
- I think I can do our own oil change on a car.
I can’t but, do any major repairs with the brakes or engine. With the Heating & A/C, I can change air filter, wash the fan blades & even add more freon if needed. Anything larger than that, I am stuck calling the professional. I would really love to expand our skills. I suppose especially in ductwork I can do some of the work! Every couple of years a homeowner should pay for ductwork cleaning. I have watched a duct cleaning appointment. It is not all that impressive. The Heating & A/C business takes a big wash brush & pushes it through the air vents. The Heating & A/C professional just seems to suppose where the brush should go & twirls it around. It is not honestly scientific or hard looking. The only thing I would need is the actual scrubbing tool. I wonder if I can fashion our own or if there is a reason Heating & A/C businesss all have the same brush. There must be an online store that sells Heating & A/C equipment though, however getting the ductwork cleaning tool should be easy, and ductwork sealing would be a little more difficult. That tool looks love an airsoft gun. The gun has sealant particles in the air that it blows out. I wonder how much that tool is & how much it is to get it refilled. I love the method of being able to do duct sealing anytime I want to. I would save so much currency.
