Podcast with no a/c

My podcast is doing very well these afternoons, I am blissful to say, but it isn’t without concerns, first of all, it took a long time to get off the ground, and an even longer time to start gaining listeners.

Podcasts take a surprising amount of work, if you want to do them well. At the same time, it seems like everyone and their step-dad has a podcast they want to tell you about. Well, I am not going to tell you about our podcast, despite the fact that I do want to tell you about the problem I had with our beach house Heating, Ventilation plus A/C systems screwing up our recording sessions, and my beach house office where I do all our recording is upstairs, and since heating rises and the insulation sucks the room can get verywarmin the mornings. When you throw in all the electronics unit I have in there, it sincerely feels like the furnace is on. To keep it moderate I have to run the AC, but that generates too much background noise for our podcast. The sound of the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit running, as quiet as it is, produces a vibration that is entirely picked up by our microphone. This means I can’t run the A/C while I record, and this puts every podcast on a ticking clock. The serious heating in there tires myself and others out, makes it hard to focus and give and wonderful show. If I want to record, I can’t run the A/C but if I don’t run the A/C then every one of us don’t want to record, it’s a real catch-22.
