Installing dehumidifier to protect hardwood furnishings

My home is nearly 2 hundred years aged plus features much of the original woodwork. I’ve refinished the hardwood floors, stairway plus banister, fireplace mantle, doors plus moldings. I’ve spent a great deal of currency purchasing antiques to suit the architectural style of the home, and not many of years ago, I noticed some problems with the wood warping. There were concerns with condensate running down the windows plus mold plus mildew growth, however despite running the a/c at max capacity, the humidity was continually making the home suppose damp plus sticky. I finally consulted with a professional Heating plus A/C contractor, who explained that a/cs aren’t designed to dehumidify. Turning down the temperature control was simply changing the workload of the a/c plus over-cooling the house. It wasn’t removing the excess moisture. I took the recommendation of the Heating plus A/C professional plus invested in a whole-house dehumidifier. The air quality accessory tucked into the air handler of the Heating plus A/C system, where it operates silently. The dehumidifier extracts moisture from the air to maintain optimum humidity levels, but since adding the dehumidifier, I’ve been able to raise the temperature control setting plus yet our home is far more comfortable. There’s less wear plus tear on the a/c plus I spend our money lower bi-weekly energy costs, but plus, I no longer need to worry about the consequences of high humidity, including injure to wood furnishings. I’ve noticed that the air smells fresher plus our family sleeps better at evening! All of us suffer from fewer headaches, sore throats plus allergy symptoms, then because of the dehumidifier, the a/c should last longer plus operate more reliably.
