There are uses for portable a/c systems

Portable a/cs are great cooling solutions for single rooms and can assist a struggling central heating as well as air conditioning system! They are commonly used in study rooms, dens, laptop rooms, and garages.

They correctly rest on the floor and come with an upgrade kit for a quick set up, then most models also have wheels so they are simple to transport to strange rooms.

They are a great portable alternative to window A/C units. Setting them up is simple and painless. Since all portable ACs detach hot air and moisture as they cool, the air has to be exhausted to another location. Window kits have a window slider and exhaust hose to exhaust hot air outside. Some models can be vented into a drop ceiling or through a wall if needed… Portable A/C units also create condensate water that needs to be drained! Advanced portable ACs automatically evaporate moisture out of the exhaust hose along with all of the hot air. Another way to get rid of collected moisture is to link a drain hose and drain water into a drain or outside location. Standard portable a/cs have buckets that need to be emptied sometimes, and depending on your humidity and time of use, water will collect inside the machine and you will simply have to turn it off and empty the bucket. Portable A/C units measure their power in BTU’s just love other types of room a/cs. The more BTU’s it has, the more room it can cool. Determine what type of machine you need based on the square footage of the room you are cooling. Most portable A/C units use common household 115/120 volt power and thankfully require no special wiring or outlets.
