For the holidays, I spent a week at our parents’ house. And while I was there, I realized how much I don’t prefer using the heat while we were in the Wintertide weeks, and my parents have a two story house plus they have a zone controlled Heating and A/C program with 2 separate temperature controls, however i am cheerful that the Heating and A/C equipment is set up that way because our parents prefer to sleep with their temperature control set to 75 degrees in the Winter. In our opinion, that is way too sizzling plus it’s consistently so uncomfortable inside their room. My room is situated upstairs plus thankfully, I can adjust the temperature control to our liking. On the first night, it was set to 70 degrees, plus it was so sizzling in our room that I could not sleep. I eventually adjusted the temperature control down to 70 degrees, which is the temperature advocated by the Department of Energy, well, 70 was still too hot, so I lowered the temperature control to 65 degrees. That was a lot more comfortable, but it was sizzling when the heat cycled on, so I used our ceiling fan to help to keep our room cool while the heat was running. I wish I could have completely turned off the heat, but our uncle plus uncle were also staying at the house. I didn’t want them to be uncomfortable while they slept, so I made sure that the central heat would cycle on while we were in the night. I know having central heat is a luxury for many people in this country, but for me, I would be superb without using it while we were in the Wintertide weeks.
The different types of thermostats
