It turns out that I could, but it took a whole lot of hydration in the summer and quite a few extra layers in the wintertime.

I’ve taken two warehousing jobs in my life so far. I was drawn in by the amount of income compared to the typical retail jobs I had taken beforehand. The work was a good deal more hard, but I certainly didn’t mind the exercise. Or at least, I would not have minded it near as much were it not for the extreme temperatures I had to endure at my first warehousing job. I remember seeing the warning on the application about how the warehouse was not climate controlled. Before I even knew what I was getting into, such a statement gave me pause. Both our winters and summers are brutal around here. I wondered if I could hack it. It turns out that I could, but it took a whole lot of hydration in the summer and quite a few extra layers in the wintertime. On my lunch break, I would dash out to my vehicle just so I could enjoy its climate control for the 30 or so minutes that I had off. When I traded this warehousing job for another one that was in a building that was climate controlled, I felt utterly spoiled those first few days on the job. It was the summertime again, and the air conditioner felt amazing. I was able to work so much harder and faster with the benefit of air conditioner! My manager was quite impressed with the amount of work I was able to get done in a day, but when I explained the conditions I worked in before, he understood.

Yucky, rainy days taught me to appreciate the indoors as a kid.

We got our fair share of them where I grew up.

Ours was the sort of town you make rain jokes about, but we found certain ways to adapt to the rainy weather. I remember cold, rainy winter days that really taught me to appreciate a good book. On a cold, wet, and rainy Saturday, my father had already typically build a fire in the fireplace by the time I got up. Then we had our breakfast and I got myself a big cup of tea and plopped down in front of the fire with one of my favorite books. Besides the fireplace we had a heating system that was adequate at best. It certainly kept the vast majority of the chill away, but it was somewhat lacking, in some rooms more than others. The living room was always the coziest room, especially with the fire going. We did not even have a TV in the living room, believe it or not. We had TVs elsewhere, but my father had always wanted the living room to be a place of fellowship or peaceful contemplation or reading. Lucky that it was the coziest room in the winter then. I read many a book, curled up on the couch listening to the pitter-patter of rain on the window panes and roof. Despite the fact that I’ve grown up to have a house with a better heating system, I have never forgotten how cozy that living room was on a cold and wet winter’s day.

I remember the silliest Halloween we ever had as a family.

It was not because of particularly silly costumes.

it was not because someone spiked the punch. Just kidding, we weren’t allowed to drink as kids anyway. No, even as a child, I could recognize it as the silliest Halloween we ever had because of the way that we went trick-or-treating. You see, this was one of the hottest Halloweens on record for our area. Summer hadn’t quite gotten the memo that it needed to cease and desist, even this late into autumn. When we began our trick or treating escapades at at 6 p.m., it was 80° even outside! Not to mention that humidity was really high. The silly part was that our parents decided to drive us around the neighborhood so that we can have the benefit of the car’s air conditioner unit as we trick or treated. We even had a couple of our next door neighbor friends join in, as their parents were particularly happy to have their children supervised during their trick or treating. As silly as this felt, it was pretty effective at keeping us cool while we searched high and low for that sweet precious candy. I could tell some of the other kids running around in the heat were pretty jealous that we had a car with air conditioning to enjoy. We didn’t think we were particularly special but our parents our surely did. They weren’t about to let their dear children overheat that night!

Anyone who had a good Halloween when they were a kid are lying if they say they don’t miss it.

What a wonderful holiday to give you an excuse to explore the neighborhood with your friends and siblings on your own and get delicious candy at nearly every door all while traipsing around in a wild costume.

Christmas may trump Halloween as my favorite holiday, but I understand people when they say that Halloween was their favorite! Of course, when you get older, it is not the same. I remember the last time I really celebrated Halloween was my junior year of high school. There was a costume party at the school gym. I made the grave mistake of dressing up in a Sasquatch suit. Perhaps it would not have been so grave a mistake if the gym’s heating system was not literally stuck on full blast. Yes, that actually happened. It was barely cold enough outside to justify having the heating system on at all, and here it was broken and blasting like a…well, a furnace. I was in straight up danger of dehydration if I didn’t drink as much punch as I could. Too bad it tasted horrible. It was nice that some of my school friends were so amused with my costume, but there were times when I had to ditch them just to go outside and enjoy the coolness as opposed to the unforgiving heat inside. As I took a moment to get relief in the cool night air, I realized I was done with Halloween. The glory days were over.

Did you assume that the A/C unit needs refrigerant to convert air into cold air? The liquid refrigerant creates a chemical reaction that chills plus freezes the air, then without this special refrigerant, the air isn’tmuch colder than outside, but in fact, the A/C is pretty useless separate from the chemical.

I didn’t assume much about liquid refrigerant, until my A/C stopped working.

I study all about the several problems that could occur, plus every website made me guess the problem was low refrigerant, then unfortunately, that has not a problem that I can fix on my own. I had to contact a local Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier to add refrigerant to my Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit. I wasn’t sure if that would fix the problem, however the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation check the plan first. I was 100% very correct, plus the issue was low refrigerant, then after adding some R-22 freon, the A/C was cool once again. When the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C representative presented me with the bill, she also gave me an informative packet on converting from the R32 refrigerant. Apparently, this type of refrigerant is going to be phased out in less than 2 years, but my partner plus I didn’t assume this when every one of us purchased our outdated A/C, plus it’s only a few years of age. I assume I will have someone from the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier come over plus check the levels, right before the refrigerant becomes obsolete… Then next time, every one of us will not have any option however get rid of the outdated A/C plus go with something new. I had a correctly tied up repair appointment for the Heating plus A/C machine this week.
