A great friend of mine works for a supplier that installs security systems, he has been working in their sales department for years. Over lunch, last week, he told me about some of the products that his supplier offers. I had only thought that his supplier offered some additional apartment security although I l received that they offered so much more than that. They have recently ventured into the world of smart apartment security which is so much more than an alarm going off in the event of a break in. He explained that all of his customers can open up an application on their PC, and from someplace in the world, can control the temperature of their home, and lock and unlock their doors. The system of that is so fascinating to me, especially the section about controlling the temperature remotely. I have many youngsters and while they are responsible enough to stay apartment alone, I don’t trust them to control the temperature on our HVAC system. They occasionally will send me a text complaining that they are cold cold or so hot that they are perspiring. I usually don’t think them, but rather than ignore them, it would be nice to adjust the temperature of my home, from the comfort of my office desk. I guess that I am going to have 1 of those smart thermometers installed in my home, this Spring, when I acquire my tax return. I guess that having a high quality HVAC system is importing in this modern world.
