There are many benefits to renting.
Making holes in the wall or dented appliances is not a big deal. I don’t worry about weeds in the garden or sticks in the lawn. It is nice knowing I won’t stay in the house forever, so upkeep is sort of an afterthought. Another good point should be that my landlord handles any service that I need. My landlord is really bad about getting back to me on necessary service. I have called about my roof leaking three times and heard nothing back. It is not my roof that will be forever damaged with water. So I think I might give up. I will not give up on my heater system repair though. For a long time the heating unit was acting funky. It was making these horrible screeching sounds. The speed seemed to vary for a while too. The heater would sound like it was really working and then like it was barely moving. The fan almost seemed to power high and low while it was heating. So it was not a surprise that one day the heater just refused to turn on. I need my landlord to call a HVAC business and get a heating professional in my rental home. I want the heater fixed before the cold season starts. The landlord is taking his sweet time on it though. I think he does not want to spend the money on a heater repair. But, I am not willing to go one day in the cold season without heating. He better get on it.
