Let HVAC Tech Lower Your Utility Bill

Our mid summertime electric bill just arrived the other morning.

  • It was so not pretty.

The thing was so ugly that I have now devised a frontal assault for slashing that bill significantly. My partner and her girls point and laugh at me however I am all about getting the Heating and Air Conditioning energy savings. I harp at them to pay attention to simply keeping doors shut and being mindful of the thermostat setting. However, I just took it another step further. My first salvo was installing the smart thermostat. I am mad about this thing. And it even integrates with our automatic blinds which I can never get programmed quite properly. There is even an app on my phone. However I rarely remember to do really anything with it during the work hours. They might get lowered like 30 percent of the time. That is not good enough at all. With this smart thermostat, it will communicate with the blinds to then close as direct sunshine travels through the afternoon. I’m also buying some of those solar screens for our big floor to ceiling windows. This solar screen is awesome and really simple to apply. The solar stuff is capable of blocking some 90 percent of ambient heating from the sunlight. Another weapon I’m going to be deploying is current light bulbs. While my family still insists they prefer to keep the incandescent bulbs and all the cozy glow, they are still going to be so gone. An incandescent bulb will even reach temps of 335 degrees. An LED bulb has a high end temp of something like 87 degrees. Yep, I am going to be leading the charge on the war for a much smaller utility bill. Just doing some of the things I’ve listed will help provide a significant savings. I’m even guessing I may save anywhere north of like 15 percent on the utility bill.
