When you work full time, you might need extra help with security at home

My spouse and I both have job full-time jobs.

They often demand overtime hours throughout the week, and occasionally weekends.

We have four kids who are all old enough to be alone at home, but the two of us worry about them. We always want to be sure they get home from school safely plus that they followed our rules for curfew. And although the two of us instructed the kids to text us, they occasionally forget. So we were concerned about them remembering to lock the doors, and while we live in a fairly safe city, break-ins are not unheard of. And most robberies happen in the middle of the day. After some research, and weighing numerous options, my spouse and I finally decided to invest in a home security system. The plan includes twelve surveillance cameras, automated door locks, security codes, exterior lighting, and various window sensors. So now we both have access to the home through an app on our smartphones. So now if a window is broken or opened, the two of us each receive an alert. If the front or back door is opened, the two of us will know about it. In the event of a breach of security, the plan automatically notifies my spouse and the regular authorities. Now we can each check the camera to see who is standing on the front porch or who might be knocking on the door. I appreciate that we are able to lock and unlock the door from our smartphones, too. Now we can even provide temporary security codes to allow servicemen access to the house. And because of this new home security system, my spouse and I feel a lot better about letting the kids be on their own.
