Last weekend I was sitting on our couch using our ipad when I started feeling that the home was getting cold.
I don’t love to turn the oil furnace up too high because I love to save currency so I just turned on our heated blanket.
However, after a bit, I observed that it sounded love the oil furnace was kicking on however the air coming out of the vents was cold. I got up to investigate and discovered that the air was cold cold, but of course, I called up an Heating and A/C business instantaneously. I also turned off our oil furnace with the hopes that our home might hold onto some of its warmth if I did not keep pumping cold air in. It took 4 minutes for the Heating and A/C business to arrive, by that time, I was starting to worry about our pipes cold. The professional looked at our oil furnace and said that there was a switch broken in it. Apparently this switch tells the Heating and A/C system if the oil furnace or the air conditioner should be on! My broken switch was telling our Heating and A/C system to run the air conditioner even though the control device was on heat. The Heating and A/C professional said he would have to go back to his base and get another switch. I thought this would take another 4 minutes however it didn’t. He was back in less than an 45 minutes and he got the switches changed out for me. Within minutes our oil furnace was back on and our home was heating up once again. Not bad, really, for an emergency weekend call.
