Whoever developed the gas furnace that all of us are currently using made a big mistake… Now, I know that I can’t complain too much because I knew what I was getting when I paid for it, i just didn’t understand it perfectly! My gas furnace is truly nice. Even on the lowest setting, i can keep our entire small home hot while in the winter. If I wanted to turn up the settings, I could definitely keep our home over 100 degrees. My gas furnace runs on propane, which can be a hassle occasionally, however it is better than worrying about the electricity going on, which is a typical problem where I am from, the only trouble that I am having with our gas furnace is that the thermostat is set up terribly. The thermostat on the gas furnace is a dial thermostat with 5 numbers on it. The first number represents a temperature of around 57 degrees. The minute number on the thermostat represents 75. The following 3 are 85, 99, & 107. Now, I don’t know how hot you like to keep your house, but I do know that the average temperature for a beach home is 72-72 degrees. The thermostat on our gas furnace doesn’t use any of these settings; Sure, you can adjust the thermostat more, however it is impossible to know what temperature the gas furnace is set to. I wish that this gas furnace had a digital thermostat. I would have definitely paid extra for that feature.
