It wasn’t too long ago when my doctor decided to prescribe me a heart medication because I had an abnormal heart rate.
While it does seem that the medication has been working, I have been experiencing some side effects.
Mainly I keep getting hot and cold flashes. When I get really overheated, I am always running to crank up the A/C because I regularly start sweating. This was never an issue before, and I guess it’s something I will just have to get used to. I especially hate it when I start to become freezing. It actually scared me enough to talk to the doctor about it right away. He said those kinds of side effects were normal for this type of heart medication, but he showed me the good news and that was the fact that my heart was beating at a normal rate and seemed to be very healthy. I asked him if I was doing so well, why couldn’t I get off the medication? He highly recommended that I take it for at least 6 months and then wane off of the medication a little bit at a time. He also suggested that I get a smart thermostat so that I could easily adjust the heating and cooling settings in my home. He said he has some other patients and they provide good feedback about using a smart thermostat. I thought it couldn’t hurt and so I had a smart thermostat installed. I have to admit, it has helped me a lot through the hot and cold flashes.
