My boss had to finish the boiler repair

My hand was bleeding all over the work truck.

Last Friday afternoon, I had to go to the emergency room and get eighteen stitches in my wrist and hand. The emergency room physician said I was really lucky, because the damage didn’t hit any of my major tendons. I was working on a boiler repair in a residential home. The customer was home at the time, so it didn’t seem like a big deal. The customer has three very large and angry looking dogs. The dogs were inside of the house and I was working on the boiler in the garage. I could hear the dogs barking every time I moved, but I was foolishly feeling very little worry. I was halfway finished with the boiler repair, when the woman popped her head out into the garage to check on my progress. One of the dogs charged through the door and bit my hand. I was shocked and immediately fell to the floor. My hand was throbbing and I felt like I was going to pass out. The lady called 911, but I wanted to drive myself to the emergency room. I called my boss on the way. My hand was bleeding all over the work truck. I had a large pool of blood on the floor by the time I arrived at the E.R. My boss had to go to the house and finish the boiler repair. The lady apologized over and over again and she told my boss that she would gladly pay all of the medical expenses. I’m probably going to be out of work for several days while my wound heals.
