My parent’s home gets an HVAC makeover

The heating and cooling can now be controlled in concert or in an almost zone controlled HVAC sort of way

You know it’s really weird to see my parent’s home without them in it. Add to that that it’s also my childhood home and it’s a bit of a timewarp. But that’s where I find myself as executor of their will. God bless those two, they died within months of each other. So I’m doing stuff like replacing the HVAC equipment and updating some other stuff in order to get the house on the market. What I noticed right away was just what a great house they had. This place is built so well and the open floor plan is just timeless. They even have a garden room attached to the house that has a ductless heat pump installed inside. This thing is awesome and keeps that awesome sunroom space wonderfully HVAC maintained no matter the season. The house also has a pretty traditional residential HVAC system as well. But the ductwork is just completely warn out. There would be substantial cost to redo all the ductwork as its built into some parts of the house. So I talked it over with my siblings and we chose to use that ductless heat pump in the garden room as an example. Now, the entire house gets quality heating and air from a ductless multi split system. It’s really quite an amazing bit of HVAC technology really. The heating and cooling can now be controlled in concert or in an almost zone controlled HVAC sort of way. Again, it’s a weird place to find yourself when you’re renovating your parent’s house. But at least the HVAC choice was easy.
