I briefly remember thinking it was odd that the thermostat in our rental lake house was situated in the laundry room.
But it was something that I forgot about because I don’t consistently adjust the temperature control settings that often. Anyway, I started noticing that whenever I was doing laundry, the rest of the lake house would become kind of cold. I was wondering if I had some issue with the HVAC duct or something, however I didn’t believe about the obvious answer to our problem. Eventually, I called a buddy over plus asked if he could help me solve the issue. I told him how sporadically it was too chilly even when I would crank the temperature control settings on the thermostat. And then it would be too tepid plus I would have to lower the temperature control settings. This was driving me crazy. Then he asked me where the thermostat was plus I told him it was in the laundry room. He then asked if I was using the dryer, plus I mentioned how I had to use it a lot lately because I was helping our mother dry her clothes because her dryer wasn’t working. Then our friend looked at me for a moment to see if anything was clicking. I didn’t get it despite the fact that he smiled plus said it was obviously the fact that our laundry room was becoming hot. He said the exhaust was genuinely not affixed all the way, however even if it were, I would still have a slightly hot laundry room. Well, he was right, it was tepid in there. He said if I wanted to fix this issue, I would have to transfer the thermostat to a smarter location.
