They say that necessity is the mother of invention.
For sure, that makes total sense.
When you want something poor enough, you’ll get as creative as you need to be to get it. That’s exactly what happened when it came to me owning my own home. It was honestly the constant concerns with the heating & cooling in my apartment that became the tipping point to make the change. I finally got to the point that the time was now to own my own heating & cooling device & pay a mortgage. With some but not enough money for a downpayment, I started looking for people in the same boat. And that turned into honestly finding partners in a home. The proposal was to buy an old many story house that needed some work. Then, have each floor be a separate living space. We’d put in ductless heat pumps on each floor so every one of us all had our own thermostat. This way, every one of us wouldn’t have to update a large central a/c system. And we’d all share the kitchen. This was the plan. First, I found the right people. That was of course the main ingredient. Then, every one of us made it all legal by going to a lawyer to draw up papers that protect all of our separate interests. Finally, it was all about closing on the house & calling for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C business. Believe it or not, all of that came together for me in the space of a year. It’s remarkable that this year, I’m enjoying the best quality heating & air ever & paying a mortgage. What a difference a year & some motivation make.
