I hate it when I need to invest in boring things.
I don’t mind when I remodel a bathroom, kitchen or bedroom.
I can make the space beautiful and I feel good about money spent. When our home HVAC unit quit, I wasn’t pleased about buying a new one. Who gets excited about a new heating and cooling system? The water heater was even worse. I had to spend thousands on an ugly, gray tank that takes up way too much room. Now it is time for a new roof on our house. It is only fair that my husband and I split it. I don’t want to buy a new roof though. I neve look up or consider my roof at all. I actually had to go outside to see what the current color and material was. My husband is a bit more excited about it and willing to spend more. He wants to get a metal roof installed since they are tougher and last longer. I don’t think a metal roof would look good and also it would be loud. I know I am going to need to research, call roofing companies and then eventually shell out the money. My husband isn’t a research kind of guy. He also would call the first roofing replacement company on google and say good enough. I want to check out the work the roofers do before hiring. I wish I was buying something more fun like deck installation. A new roof isn’t exciting to me at all though.
